Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
SWWAP Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 Hello. I'm trying to update my Invision website but I'm getting an error on Step 4: Download & Extract. The page that tries to load in the upgrade window for that step just shows, "Forbidden", "You do not have permission to access this document." Can anyone help me figure out what the problem might be? Thank you!

IPB does not have a concept of “forbidden”. That’s coming from your host or a firewall. Check with your host if you have anything like mod_security or a firewall (cloudflare) enabled. If so… try turning it off. Edited April 24, 2023 by Randy Calvert
SWWAP Posted April 25, 2023 Author Posted April 25, 2023 Thank you. I've turned off the firewall, turned off mod_secure and double checked all chmod permissions. I'm still having the same problem. I'm going to try a manual upgrade and see if that works.
SWWAP Posted April 28, 2023 Author Posted April 28, 2023 A manual upgrade worked in the end. Thanks again. Randy Calvert and Jim M 2
