  1. Thank you. I've been there and looked again but fortunately I'm not finding anything that allows me to promote members based custom profile fields. Edit: I wonder if this is because I'm using an older version, because I've also read that you can filter your bulk mail based on profile fields and I'm not seeing that either. I'm on v4.4.10.
  2. I've been trying to figure out how to do this. Can anyone help? Think you! The reason why I'm trying to do this is to send out bulk mail based on custom profile fields (volunteer signup options for a nonprofit) on a member's profile. It would be even better if I could simply filter which members to send bulk mail to based on their registration and profile custom profile field selections. I thought assigning people to specific secondary groups based on their profile fields might just be an easier work-around but it's definitely less ideal.
  3. @opentype Update: Thanks to the post and your reply that I referenced above, I figured out what did the trick to show full articles instead of truncated previews for articles listed in category view! The only difference is that I had to use... {$row->_content|raw} ...instead of... {$record->_content|raw} Thank you! Now I just have to figure out how to adapt it for the "Featured Articles" feed block.
  4. I found this post that seems like it might be in the ballpark... I found the html code from your reply... ...but replacing it as you suggested, removes the article contents from the preview, as opposed to expanding it. Is this something you think you might be able to expand on to help my situation? Thank you again!
  5. Thank you for the reply. It's kind of nuts going from something free like WordPress or Joomla that does this... to something paid like Invision that does not. 😕 Do you know of any posted solutions to this? Or even something pretty close? I keep trying to reword my searches hoping to get lucky, but I can't believe I'm not finding anything yet. I would think this would be a very popular request. Thank again!
  6. I'll start by stating that the version of Pages I am using is about two years old. (v4.4.10) That said, I can't find anything that suggests it's any better now. I'll explain... I've been an Invision user for probably 18+ years now. I really love most aspects of it. But there's one specific reoccurring theme that always drives me insane. Some very basic layout features that so many other suites offer are just absent from Invision. Here's my number one example, with Pages... 1a. There is no way that I can find to easily change the layout of articles as they show within categories. I want the list of articles within a category to look like they do when you actually click on them. Not truncated versions that you need to click "Read More" to see. This has been a feature of practically every one of the dozens of other CMS systems I've tried. Why isn't that something I can do easily here!? 1b. On that same note, if I want to show 'featured' articles in a block on my homepage, the only way I can find to do that easily is with a feed of article 'titles'. I don't want just clickable titles, I want these featured articles to show in their full glory just as I described above. Full untruncated articles. Why is this so hard!? I've done SO MUCH searching for solutions to this over the years and now I find myself falling down the same rabbit hole yet again.... "invision power show full articles in category view" "...show full articles in blocks" ...etc... I have found so many other people that have similar needs. I've found very few solutions, and they've all been only 'kind of' like what I've wanted and never really laid out in a very easy to follow way. My ADHD cannot handle so many small breadcrumb sized clues over dozens of pages of discussion, partial solutions that needs so much tweaking, etc. Can anyone please (PLEASE I'M BEGGING) point me to an easy to follow solution for this? Thank you!!!
  7. Thank you. The access info should be up to date now.
  8. For anyone with Plesk, this was the culprit in my case... https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/14861542533911
  9. I don't think so. Until now I didn't know what that was.
  10. Thank you. The file is not there. It's not there in any bakups either. Nor does it seem to be included with the installer I downloaded from Invision. The directory [domain.tld]/httpdocs/applications/core/dev/ isn't even there. 😞
  11. We think we found the problem. Error logs pointed to [domain.tld]/httpdocs/applications/core/interface/js/js.php Checking file_get_contents for this js.php file from PHP, where it gets concatenated with the app path, revealed that ckeditor.js ([domain.tld]/httpdocs/applications/core/dev/ckeditor/ckeditor.js) is missing. Can anyone help me figure out ow to fix this? Thanks again!
  12. Thank you! Its a self-managed dedicated server. (I'm not an expert by any means though.) I've double checked all of the permissions via FTP and I think it's all good. Pretty much every directory is 755. I also checked the user/group and I think that's good. The user is what I have setup in Plesk for FTP for the domain. I'm not sure about where the group comes from though.
  13. I'm having the same exact issues. Were you able to fix this? Any advice? Clearing the system cache didn't work in the Invision Admin CP. I also tried turning off the server firewall and ModSecurity just to see if it made a difference but it did not. I'm pretty sure I don't have suPHP but suExec is enabled in Apache.
  14. I backed everything up and then deleted everything except the 'uploads' folder. The upgrader complained about the 'convert' folder so I must have had that installed for some reason. But otherwise it worked out great. Thanks gain.
  15. I'm having trouble with an upgrade and have to attempt a manual upgrade anyhow, so I'd like to basically delete all website files (backed up of course) except just the old directories and files that are necessary to keep. My root website directory is a hot mess of old former website software files, etc. Over 33,000 files! Can anyone help me determine what directories should be kept? "uploads", etc? Thank you! P.S. I only have 'Pages' and no other applications.
  16. Thank you. I've turned off the firewall, turned off mod_secure and double checked all chmod permissions. I'm still having the same problem. I'm going to try a manual upgrade and see if that works.
  17. Hello. I'm trying to update my Invision website but I'm getting an error on Step 4: Download & Extract. The page that tries to load in the upgrade window for that step just shows, "Forbidden", "You do not have permission to access this document." Can anyone help me figure out what the problem might be? Thank you!
