the spammers are coming fast and furious

In the past, the spammers registered but because of the magic power of invision they could not post.

Now we are getting 100's of posts that have to be deleted.

Is there a good way to stop those again?

It is worth mentioning, to make sure you are using all the correct internal features first of all. Please ensure you are using hCaptcha to begin with, which was implemented to assist with this

In this case it is better to ban the IPs by the HTACCESS (a few days). Then do a search for their host with WHOIS. If it is not Asian or Russian you can contact them by abuse@... by sending a copy of the spam.

Akismet is extremely effective and costs nothing to use. It would be a win-win for IPS and everyone who uses it.
