Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Simon.AU Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 (edited) Hi all, Can somebody please help me find where 404 errors are logged in Community Cloud? Our second highest page title stat in web analytics is "Sorry, we could not find that!" but I can't find where these error page hits/404s are logged in the ACP. cheers David Edited January 20, 2023 by Simon.AU
Solution Daniel F Posted January 20, 2023 Solution Posted January 20, 2023 There's no 404 error log in the default IPS, but if you're using google analytics, you could use it to see all the URLS which return the 404 page. There is also at least one marketplace file that can log these pages https://invisioncommunity.com/files/file/8999-404-management/ ( I have also an app for this, but it's probably doing too much if you need only the 404 log )
Donnie95 Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 You can edit your NGINX or Apache config to logs 404 errors.

As a result, there is no access to Apache or Nginx. They would need to use some sort of marketplace add-on to achieve what they're wanting to do.
Simon.AU Posted January 23, 2023 Author Posted January 23, 2023 Thanks all, good tips 🙂 Was finally able to discover the search box in the new Google Analytics 4. Seems you have to actually search page titles (yeah, have to guess what the 404 page will be called - thankfully Invision has a consistent name to make that easier/reliable) and then there is a concealed option to view "Page path and screen class" which finally shows you the URL.
