Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
John Horton Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 The out-of-the-box articles template is not responsive with media? As an example, YouTube videos do not resize to mobile browsers. Is this just the result of a bare-bones template? A setting or is this the way it is?
Jim M Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Are you using unmodified templates for both your Pages and theme? Do you have any example URL of what you're seeing if so?
John Horton Posted January 6, 2023 Author Posted January 6, 2023 @Jim M Honestly "mostly unmodified" or "lightly modified" is likely more accurate. My developer's exact words are "There is no custom javascript on the pages. The ads are inserted via Invision's ad manager, and are standard image uploads with a click URL - they are not script ad tag inserts." The URL is https://ballofspray.com/

Your Pages templates are highly modified there so you would need to test this with unmodified versions to see if you're still having issues.
John Horton Posted January 6, 2023 Author Posted January 6, 2023 @Jim M I think you are actually answering my question. Should I expect a correctly coded template to be fully responsive?

John Horton Posted January 6, 2023 Author Posted January 6, 2023 Ok, that clarifies a number of things. Thanks for handling a number of n00b questions in the last week or so.
Nathan Explosion Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 You might want to look at the HOW those YT videos are added. Normal YT video, added via pasting link into the Editor and allowing it to do its thing: Your site: Marc 1
John Horton Posted January 6, 2023 Author Posted January 6, 2023 @Nathan Explosion thanks for the effort. I pretty much just accepted the fact that I need a theme developer to clean things up.
Nathan Explosion Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Fair enough - but personally, I'd be looking at why you end up with the unexpected HTML for your YT videos instead of kludging it to make it work.
