Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Amy Srch Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 New member reports that when they go to add a signature, it won't let them because it says it's too many lines. But, I checked the group settings and they're all set to Unlimited for signatures. Not sure how else to fix it?
Jim M Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 Could you please let us know the user's display name or id?
Miss_B Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 Does that user have a secondary group as well by any chance, which does not have that permission?
Solution Jim M Posted December 27, 2022 Solution Posted December 27, 2022 52 minutes ago, Amy Srch said: @Jim M user name is Rkasr The group this user is in has "Maximum lines of text" set to 0. You would need to increase that to a number larger than 0 if you wish this group to have a signature.
teraßyte Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 (edited) There's also a bug with the signature restrictions at the top of the page not properly listing them all though. The screenshot in the first post simply lists that "images are not allowed". It doesn't say anything about "number of links" or "lines of text" (which are both set to 0). While I agree if the number of links / lines were set to something > 0, it should appear. The current configuration really should disable signatures because it won't allow the user to do anything. I will submit this internally for review. teraßyte 1
teraßyte Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 Yeah, the number of links should be displayed. If no lines are allowed the signature area should be disabled in the first place though. 😅 Jim M 1

I have brought this up internally about when lines are 0 to do something about this so there is no confusion / frustration here.
