Kenneth Baker Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 Hello I'm running IPB version 4.7.1 on php version 7.4 My host is about to update to php 8 and then i'll update to the latest IPB version, but since i missed v4.7.2 and i dont have the compatibility check tool I'd like to know which of those should be updated first ? I also i assume its best to disable all apps and plugins , at which stage it should be done exactly
Marc Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 You should update to the latest release of the platform, and be using the current compatibility check tool. You should ensure that your 3rd party applications are compatible with the latest release, and PHP 8
Kenneth Baker Posted December 1, 2022 Author Posted December 1, 2022 @Marc Stridgen so the correct order is first to update to IPB 4.7.5, run the compatibility tool and only then update the server to php 8 ?
Marc Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 No, it would update to PHP 8, run the compatibility checker, then upgrade
Kenneth Baker Posted December 1, 2022 Author Posted December 1, 2022 @Marc Stridgen but the compatibility checker is only from 4.7.2 and i'm on 4.7.1
Marc Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 You are checking your server is compatible with what you are upgrading to, not what you are currently on Kenneth Baker and SeNioR- 1 1
Marc Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 No problem at all, and good luck with the moves SeNioR- and Kenneth Baker 1 1
