SG Teknik Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 Hello. Today i upgraded our Ubuntu server to php8.1 and also upgraded Invision to 4.7.3. I use Nginx as a web server. Using php7.4 everything works fine. When i switch to 8.1, i need to disable a few Applications and Plugins for the forum to work, but it works fine. What is very strange is that one cannot log in to AdminCP, since it lands in Dashboard. If i am already logged in to AdminCP but on another area then Dashboard when i restart Nginx after switching to php8.1 from php7.4 i can freely navigate AdminCP, except Dashboard. It gives me a Internal 500 error when i try to access it. I use IPS Default theme while doing upgrades. ips4.php is all green. Any thoughts as to what might cause this would be very appreciated. Vbr Daniel
Solution Jim M Posted October 15, 2022 Solution Posted October 15, 2022 You would want to check what the 500 Internal Server Error is and check with your hosting provider/server administrator to resolve any server issues. Then pass any issues with our software to us here. If you're using any third-party widgets on the Dashboard, you'll want to disable those and see if that helps. SeNioR- and SG Teknik 1 1
SG Teknik Posted October 15, 2022 Author Posted October 15, 2022 Thanks, it was as easy as to disable widgets.
Marc Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 If this was a 3rd party widget, please do ensure you report it to the author so they can resolve the problem.
SG Teknik Posted October 17, 2022 Author Posted October 17, 2022 It seems like any and all Widgets cause this issue for us. I have not tried them all but for example the "Background Processes" widget is causing it. And tbh i do not know how to differentiate between native and 3:rd party widgets. I only have this "+ ADD" drop down in dashboard with 10 widgets.
Jim M Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 You would need to provide the 500 Internal Server Error log entry for this issue and we can help identify what is happening if this is in the core software.
