aceamericanwx Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 Hi I'm having trouble with outgoing emails from the forum? They appear to be lacking headers needed to properly authenticate an email so all emails are bouncing and flooding my mail server. Example of a bounce back from Google: Can someone help me with this? Remote-MTA: dns; gmail-smtp-in.l.google.comDiagnostic-Code: smtp; 550-5.7.1 [67.202.70.12] Messages missing a valid messageId header are not 550 5.7.1 accepted. i8-20020a255408000000b006a67418438esi2635962ybb.421 - gsmtp
Marc Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 You need to check with your hosting company in order to resolve this. The issue you are having is generally caused by missing SPF records on your email setup
aceamericanwx Posted October 11, 2022 Author Posted October 11, 2022 Thanks for the reply. Is there a way to toggle off the sending of outgoing emails to people when they post?
Jim M Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 Sorry, there is no quick disable. Each individual would need to unfollow the topic.
Marc Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Sorry, could I just clarify what you are asking there? Are you asking how to switch of outgoing emails for followed items altogether, for everyone?
aceamericanwx Posted October 14, 2022 Author Posted October 14, 2022 Yes that way I don't have to deal with this issue and all the bounce back emails clogging my inbox. Thanks,
Marc Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 You can do that by switching off the ability to get notifications for that type in your admin CP See the following guide on how to set defaults on these https://invisioncommunity.com/4guides/how-to-use-ips-community-suite/content-discovery/notifications-r71/
Randy Calvert Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Marc… would that “unsubscribe” anyone who is following a topic already or just change the behavior going forward so that it does not get worse?
Marc Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 It wouldnt for anyone who is already subscribed. It would only change defaults for new users, and existing users if requested Randy Calvert 1
