ekforum Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 Stripe supports direct debit. Does the invision stripe integration support direct debit? Is it possible to specifically select to only allow direct debit on a product with renewals, and exclude card payment option? If not, is it possible for stripe to integrate the above. These are very important as due to 2FA if a reaccuring card transaction is changed in amount, their card renewal payment will fail. With direct debit, it is possible to increase or decrease the membership price, as long as you give notice to the customer. This will avoid failed payments.
Marc Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 We support card payments, but do not support direct debit at the present time. Please feel free to post up within our suggestions area if you wish to see something like this appear in the future

Do you know if there is any possibility for a custom integration to allow this? Or this feature can only be added by invision themselves.
Randy Calvert Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 You could certainly engage a 3rd party resource to do this. There have been other payment gateways created so it should absolutely be doable. ekforum 1

If its something you urgently need, it may be worth looking at having custom work done for yourself ekforum 1

If its something you urgently need, it may be worth looking at having custom work done for yourself Unfortunately the price is cost prohibitive and in the thousands, from a developer I asked. So hopefully Invision can consider adding this to the stripe gateway or an additional gateway so that card payments and direct debit can be separated (some products/subscriptions may want to only allow one or the other) Because with the SCA authentications in EEA (UK and Europe) it’s not possible to increase or decrease the monthly subscription amount on a card without needing SCA confirmation of the change, which would result in a high amount of dropped membership. So direct debit and SEPA direct debit is the most logical payment option for subscriptions in the EEA, so please please consider adding it if you are serious about supporting subscription based forums! Marc Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 Thank you for your feedback there. Of course if this is in our suggestions area, it will be reviewed ekforum 1
abetts Posted May 14 Posted May 14 (edited) I just had this from GoCardless... It would be great to see a Direct Debit integration. It pays to use Subscription templates Could you be using Subscription templates to automate the way you collect payments and manage multiple subscriptions with ease? A reminder of how it works Think of a Subscription template as a one-to-many relationship. You can create Subscription templates for different levels or tiers of goods or services, for example, a bronze, silver and gold gym membership. Simply assign your customers to the relevant template and you can then easily edit and manage your subscriptions in bulk. Create a Subscription template in a few simple steps: 1. Create a new subscription template 2. Go to the Customers page to add them to a Subscription template 3. Or invite new customers to a subscription template Or follow this easy step-by-step guide for more details. Edited May 14 by abetts
