Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Gauravk Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 We created a new calendar and set up permission that only moderator can post a comment. However after posting they are visible to guest even. What permission we need to set to restrict calendar comment posting and viewing to moderators only.

There is no built-in permissions for comments in IPS. Comments use the view/read permission of the item. In your case the event. Gauravk 1

Gauravk Posted February 6, 2022 Author Posted February 6, 2022 Any code edit anyone can offer as paid help, please?

If it’s only 1, you better use the Staff Note (content item message) instead. This is an example in Downloads but it’s all the same:
Gauravk Posted February 6, 2022 Author Posted February 6, 2022 I want to restrict all comment views to one of the calendar. It's a report of individual person, but need to be available to all mods to know how he performed for internal use, but not public.
Adriano Faria Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 And that’s the goal of the content message. You want to use comments in a not “designed” way, hence the lacking of permissions.
Pescao6 Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 If you use Clubs, you can setup a Calendar that only people within the Club can see and these events will be displayed also on your Community Calendar for people within the Club. Other than that, you have the Calendar Permissions which you can edit for each Calendar. There is no View Comment permission, only View Event and Comment. In your position, I'd just use like an Mods Forum or Mods Club. I mean you can always use the Calendar for your events and make a Mods Club Calendar with a title like EventX - Comments. You'd have 2 events for each, but that could work for what you're trying to accomplish.
