Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Janeric Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Since I upgraded to 4.5 when adding an imagelink into a post the image does not show up but shows a link instead (see attachment). The images previously posted before the upgrade all show. Any idea why this happening and how to change this?
opentype Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 BB code support is turned off by default in 4.5. Just post the image URL itself. Wrapping an image URL with bb code isn’t needed anymore for years. Janeric 1
Janeric Posted September 11, 2020 Author Posted September 11, 2020 Funny thing is that I did not wrap the image url. It posted it that way. I enabled BBcode and let's see how that goes. Thanks for the reply!

As an advance notice for you, BBcode will be deprecated and no longer supported by IPS, so it's in your best interests to not rely on BBcode moving forward.

So what do you suggest I do? I have literally 1000s of images on my site?
opentype Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 It has nothing to do with existing images. You users should just learn not to paste BB code into the editor anymore.
bfarber Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 The setting referenced only impacts your ability to use the bbcode tags when submitting a post [img]url here[/img] Instead you can simply paste that URL into the editor and it should display as an image.
