Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
The Old Man Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 Is it actually possible within the 'full fat' IPS Community suite, to create a basic RSS feed of Topics (new/recent/latest), without it including the post content or without the need for a Marketplace plugin? This seems a simple task and I'm almost embarrassed to ask, custom RSS feature insists on bloating the topic feed with post content. I also noticed it passes RSS feed validation at W3C but it mentions GUID tags are missing. I'll also tried making a custom Activity Stream for its RSS feed and fiddled with Pages. Many thanks.

The post content is the "description" element of the "item" - a "description", along with the "title" and the "link" are the 3 required elements of an RSS "item" One man's 'bloat' is another man's 'it has to be there' - what do you expect to be there otherwise? Want to change it? It's plugin time!!! The Old Man 1
bfarber Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Yes, the post content must be included (or rather, something must be included as the description element). There is no option not to include it. The Old Man 1
