Invision Community 5: A video walkthrough creating a custom theme and homepage By Matt Thursday at 04:02 PM
Sledge FTB Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 Hi all and happy new year. This is a kind of 'ask for a friend' post 😉, as it has nothing to do with my own server, but any help would be awesome! Thing is, I'm member on a site running IPS. Their (fancy) forum template does not support fluid layout. They choose to use a zillion sub and subsubboards. It does keep the topics organised, but it isn't helping 'reading' the site. My main interest are the new topics and opening posts, I can't really care about the majority of the replies. Is there a way to request topic-list or unread list, sorted on topic start dates (desc), without me opening and closing subboard per subboard? The unread/activity/stream pages seem to render per replies only. I tried to squeeze in a manual "fluid layout" cookie, but without luck. Tried adding "?sortby=start_date&sortdirection=desc" to several URLs, but without luck. Who has a bright idea?
modified Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 We have an active topics page setup that displays the last 90 threads.  https://www.defenderssv.com/activetopics.html/  Â
Sledge FTB Posted January 13, 2020 Author Posted January 13, 2020 Thank you @lilnina, but that is not a default-page you can call on any forum running IPS, right? That is kind of mandatory, as I don't own that one site I'm talking about.
Daniel F Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 Why won't an activity stream work for you? Couldn't you use the "Content Items" option? Â Â
Sledge FTB Posted January 13, 2020 Author Posted January 13, 2020 That does include topic replies unfortunately Like this @Daniel F It is showing all the topics that have been replied to (you in this case) in the last some minutes

The only way to do what you want without a 3rd-party resource is add the Topic feed widget (ordered by start date) in a page you want, in the horizontal mode. You will get a list of X latest topics like a forum view and it won’t get updated when people reply.Â
Sledge FTB Posted January 17, 2020 Author Posted January 17, 2020 Thank you for your reply @Adriano Faria, I guess I have to live with it, as it's not my board and I won't be able to install any plugins or so. Have to be honest and say I found it weird there is no such URL available. Seems quite basic to me. I give up and rest my case.
