Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
MSUKForum Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Is there anyway to allow comments using users forum accounts on Wordpress posts/content? I've seen this:https://invisioncommunity.com/services/remote-commenting/ But I'm not an enterprise user, if I could purchase it separately I would. Any help would be appreciated. All the best, Nick.
Jim M Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 There are really two options, however, none like remote commenting, I'm afraid. Remote commenting is currently only available to Enterprise. Convert your WordPress to our Pages application. Everything then would be in our software and obviously, commenting and accounts would happen inside Invision Community. More info on Pages: https://invisioncommunity.com/features/publishing/ If having users just use their Invision Community account is wanted, you could use OAuth to have Invision Community as the server and WordPress as the client. This would allow people to login to your WordPress site using their Invision Community credentials. However, this is really only for logging in and account management. Therefore, the comments would only exist in your WordPress site, there would be no relation to it inside Invision Community. You can read more on how to do this at: https://invisioncommunity.com/4guides/members-and-groups/social-sign-in/43-and-above/wordpress-r304/
DamonT Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 It would be great to have remote commenting not only for enterprise 😉 It is easy to show comments from forum, the hardest part is to allow writing new comments 😞 Maybe some official paid app for such option?
IPCommerceFan Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Maybe its only available on enterprise due to the feature needing to be extensively customized per site? I imagine that would be cumbersome for IPS to support without going hand in hand with whatever the licensing structure is for enterprise. Paid app would be a nice tradeoff, though we'd have to promise not to scoff at the price. I'd expect it to be "enterprisey", and that'd be OK.
DamonT Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Maybe there there is an option to add it as external blocks (one for post view from specific topic and editor for new post to this topic)?
