Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Shane Mohammad Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 See i have this problem i dont know if it is bots or humans but tons of account get made with a random display name, weird email address, and a different ip every time. And they post these like medicine selling posts or something Is there some plugin / setting that can detect spam advertising? If you go on my website (pcmasterhelp.com) you can find these posts easily, as there are not many real users on there yet.
Shane Mohammad Posted April 25, 2019 Author Posted April 25, 2019 Ok thanks. Then once I see some real user I can make a new one like "Verified Member" Thanks this is perfect
Joel R Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Are you a client with an active license? You should have the IPS Spam Service turned on. You should also investigate other anti-spam options during registration including security challenge questions.
LiquidFractal Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Keep in mind that you can also ban entire email domains, e.g., anyone trying to use a mail.ru email for validation is automatically knocked back. Of course this could shut out potential members depending on your target audience, but it's an option.
