Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Joel R Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 I think large part of SJ's problem is that he tried to upgrade with 4.3 third party apps and plugins still enabled. All of those should have been disabled before upgrade.
SJ77 Posted February 22, 2019 Author Posted February 22, 2019 @Adriano Faria you have a point. I mean for ME it’s a disaster not in general. But it’s not fair of me to make a blanket statement as I did. Appreciate you clearing that up. Thank you 2 hours ago, Joel R said: I think large part of SJ's problem is that he tried to upgrade with 4.3 third party apps and plugins still enabled. All of those should have been disabled before upgrade. I’ve never had an issue before. Lesson learned. However that wasn’t the only problem. Even with them all disabled 4.4 didn’t work on my site 4 hours ago, Ramsesx said: Since some weeks you can only choose between normal or low severity in a ticket. The other thing, he has chosen a bad time for upgrading when IPS staff is limited due to their working time. Best time for upgrading a forum is Monday 8.00 a.m. https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zone/usa/lynchburg Every one keeps saying I choose a bad time. My first ticket was submitted around 2pm (mid day) site was offline for 8 hours
SJ77 Posted February 22, 2019 Author Posted February 22, 2019 I’ve edited the language used in my review on the previous page to make it more fair.
SJ77 Posted February 22, 2019 Author Posted February 22, 2019 Well after restoring all the files to 3.6 and restoring the DB backup Now none of the payment gateways are working. Can't collect any sales the bar for collecting payment is missing OF COURSE.. of all the crap that could be broken, my ability to collect money. Imagine my shock! same thing with stripe or ccbill
Adlago Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Use Support tool - "Something isn't working correctly"
SJ77 Posted February 22, 2019 Author Posted February 22, 2019 When to use webhooks Webhooks are necessary only for behind-the-scenes transactions. Most Stripe requests (e.g., creating charges or refunds) generate results that are reported synchronously to your code. These don’t require webhooks for verification. If you use Stripe only to accept card payments, webhooks are optional. They are forcing me to set this up and I don't want the extra features or the webhook. I don't know why it's forcing me when I restored from before. I didn't delete everything, I just over wrote the files but I think there were extra files that now somehow has me being forced into this
Joel R Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 You should have full access to the CCBill file which also uses webhooks. Maybe when you restored you deleted that file, so reupload if needed.
SJ77 Posted February 23, 2019 Author Posted February 23, 2019 finally got back up and running on 4.3.6 most things are back to normal. What a crazy couple of days I am exhausted.
