Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Tom S. Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 I use the "Minimum age required to register" setting on my site. I sometimes get the following support ticket: Quote I have selected wrong dob by mistake. And because of that they cannot continue to register. I only recently enabled this feature so I'm not sure how it works. What should I tell the user to do so that they can try again? I'm assuming once they enter the incorrect age below the minimum the system blocks them. Should they clear cookies, try from a different browser, or does it lock their IP?

I'm probably missing something here, but what setting do you mean? Can't find it via search, so could you put up a screenshot? Bingo - found it via the COPPA stuff (' Yes, with full registration form' ) Advise the user to go to the home page again and click 'Sign up'. After the message comes up, a refresh will resubmit the content....but loading the page itself again (i.e. click in to the URL and pressing return) allows the user to submit a birthday again.
Josiah Wallingford Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 What happens to existing users when this is enabled that have not put in their birthdate or their birthdate does not match the minimum required age?
Adriano Faria Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 This one will add the age requirement on registration screen... 51 minutes ago, Josiah Wallingford said: What happens to existing users when this is enabled that have not put in their birthdate or their birthdate does not match the minimum required age? and will make registered users to fill the birthday.
