George Maciver Posted May 12, 2018 Posted May 12, 2018 Hi, I can't read my own board with font sizes of 14 and would like to change the default font size to 16. I can't find where to do this, I've googled, and read countless posts, and all I can find is that it's not available to do through Admin, it has to be changed in the theme CSS settings apparently. I've found the Font settings in CSS and they go for miles and I've no idea what I'm looking for. Yes, I can make all my posts size 16, but that's tedious and everyone else's posts, the posts I want to read, are still 14. I saw someone suggest setting default font sizes through Admin, but from what I can gather this could affect other skins. I don't use any other skins so could some kind person please explain to a clueless dude like me how I can change the boards default size from 14 to 16. Regards George

Regards George Try adding in custom.css (admincp >> themes >> far right of theme name click the first icon >> css tab >> custom.css add: body { font-size: 16px; } NOTE: This will not change every font to that size but if want other areas changed then come back with screenies of area want changed then someone should be able to help
George Maciver Posted May 13, 2018 Author Posted May 13, 2018 Thanks Steve, that worked, but it changed a little too much for me, including menus and profiles. It's just the font size in posts I'd like changed. The board itself is perfect as it is. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I guess I'll have to learn to live with size 14 font posts.
George Maciver Posted May 13, 2018 Author Posted May 13, 2018 Steve, I think perhaps I didn't verbalise effectively what I was trying to communicate. My apologies, I should take more care with my words before posting. When you post on the board, the default font size selected is 14. I can change that manually to 16, but everyone else tends to just type with the default size selected which is 14. I'm not really interested in changing the font size of existing posts, only that the default size in future posts selected be 16 rather than 14. I've also looked at posts on two computers now. I fired up my Windows 7 old machine, which I still use for various things, and size 14 is just fine, it's on my main machine running Windows 10 that the font size looks small. I'm beginning to suspect that perhaps it's something at my end. Sorry for being a pain.

In your main machine you can set another screen resolution on your monitor and everything gets bigger. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14108/windows-7-change-screen-resolution Or do it like I do, use Vivaldi as browser there you can resize every single website you visit . 13-05-_2018_18-08-06.mp4 16 minutes ago, George Maciver said: I'm beginning to suspect that perhaps it's something at my end.
George Maciver Posted May 13, 2018 Author Posted May 13, 2018 Thanks Ramsesx, browser is the next thing I'm going to look at. It's most likely that, thanks, because size 14 here using my Windows 7 machine is perfect, looks bigger than it does on my main machine. Browser looks promising. Not sure what's happening with you OpenT, I have a ton of font sizes I can select.

Yes, I cut that off on my screenshot. But there should be nothing selected by default. If it is, it hard-codes the font size and that is not a good thing to do. (Personally, I don’t allow rich text pasting nor font size choices. That just creates a mess.)
