In the posts of wordpress there is the option to attach a featured image to the post, this image makes it much easier when we share the post on Facebook for example. The open graphic automatically uses this photo as the main photo and with this it becomes much easier to direct the viral marketing of the posts.

Every time we share the post on our facebook page the first image it carries is the avatars letters.

Is there any configuration in the IPB or some plugin that does this?

If you set up a sharer image in your theme settings that will be used for social media sharing. 

Setting an image for each content item makes a lot more sense for articles (and Pages has that just like WordPress) than for forum topics. Should every topic starter deal with that and pick an image? That would be weird.

It's that our forum has almost 10,000 travel reports. It's a travel forum. We also disclose the reports on our social networking pages. With the Pages app, is it possible to convert topics into pages?

Yeah, you can “promote“ them to articles (the function is called “Copy to Database” with Pages installed). Might make sense for a travel report section. 

You could also add categories and filters and have nicer overview pages with templates. 

 

Cool. I had already seen your plugin in the marketplace. This week will buy the app for pages and I will also buy your plugin. Anyway, do you think it is possible to develop a plugin to attach a Featured image in topics and this image serves as the open graphic og: image tag?
