Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
arbee Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Is there a way to allow moderators (not admins) to just BAN without using the flag as spammer button? In other words, sometimes moderators want to ban without deleting or hiding the banned person's topics or posts.
sweethoney Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 im going to look into that for you see what i can come up with my son has a website
sweethoney Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 you can only give ban warnings not the actual ban)only the admin can ban but ill keep check for you ps i dont want to put up the website just yet where you can ask him for help oops
Square Wheels Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 I think so, there may be more elegant ways to do it, but try this. In ACP > Members > Warnings > Actions, create an indefinite ban with a certain number of points, let's say 100. Then create a Reason and give that 100 points. The user would then be banned.

AWESOME workaround. Thanks @Square Wheels !
sweethoney Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 thats something to know please post update if it works
arbee Posted October 13, 2016 Author Posted October 13, 2016 UPDATE: Yes I tested it and it works. However, while testing this out (as a moderator) I just discovered that there was an option all along as a checkbox (while warning) called "Suspend from accessing the site" and it bans them (even without issuing points). Anyways, thanks again both of you!
AndyF Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 The other way of doing this is with a third party hook. There was one called "quick ban" and you could simply set it per group iirc on who could use it. It was simply that a button on the member profile to ban them with one click.
