Logo image... two questions

I just upgraded to 4. Can I simply go into the "Logo" part of the css and change this: <img src="{$logo}" to reflect something like this: img src="/images/logo4.gif"??

 

Also, I have had a repeating image on both sides of my banner logo. Can someone tell me how to make that happen?

I recommend to just try this out. There's nothing big that can be broken.

why dont you just change the logo with the logo setting in acp?

find in admincp >> customization >> themes >> far right of theme name click the 'pencil icon' >> logo's tab

I get an error saying there is a problem uploading the file.

My logo is 41.2kb, 550x100 pixels. It doesn't seem like it shouldn't be too big.

Just an idea but the file size may be too large.What file extension are you using and what is the size?

 

Accepted file types gif, jpeg, jpe, jpg, png

show us your site and the logo example and i will tell you how to achieve it.To be honest it should work.

The forum is private, but I can give you a screen shot or anything else you need and I will attach the logo.
 I also have this little image (also attached) that I use to repeat on both sides of the banner.

didn't we answer that already ... add in the admincp ?

otherwise you will have to edit template and then every upgrade will have to check if need to redo (revert template and then re-add your code)

Not that I recall. Of course it would be in the admin cp in the theme, but what would the code be? If/when I can upload, I will but it still won't help me with the repeating image.

what repeating image ?

add logo as has been mentioned a couple of times ... and in custom.css add repeating image to the

#ipsLayout_header header

without the image to look at and how your forum has been done then we are always going to be guessing
