Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
interfx Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 I'm a new user of IPS forums, and have been looking for how to turn on the right column of widgets (most recent registration, recent posts, ...) on my new forum. I've looked through the admin menu, but can't seem to figure it out... Thanks for the newbie question -
Nathan Explosion Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Log in as an admin that has the 'Manage sidebar' permission in their group settings and then look to the left of the screen when you are viewing the forum.
interfx Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 Ok, when to Admin Members Groups went to Administrators... Do not see the place you reference? Apologize, if this is obvious...
Woodsman Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 No @Nathan Explosion is referring to log into your site (forum) with your admin account. To the left you will see a > (right arrow>. Click on it to open the widgets. Misread his comment.... He is saying look at ACP - Members - Groups - Administrator - Manage Sidebar. Check to see if this has been toggled. Then go to the above procedure.
interfx Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 Ok, I have logged into my site as the admin. I can see the forum, and also the admin control panel in another window. Sorry, but can you be specific on where to find the right arrow?
Meddysong Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 On any page at the front end of your site, hovering about half way vertically and on the left-hand side. Click it and you'll open the block manager, from where you drag and drop the blocks that you wish to use.
interfx Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 Thanks Meddysong, now I see it... Thanks!
Woodsman Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 On your forum index page (front end) you should see a right arrow If not check your administrator settings by clicking on administrator from the above procedure.
Nathan Explosion Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Got there in the end then - sorry I wasn't much more descriptive earlier. Typed out in a hurry on the phone.
