Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Lince Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Hello, I have just installed IPS 4 and when I try to go to RSS notifications it gives a 404 error. To reproduce go to notifications -> show all notifications -> RSS. The url is like this: http://www.server.com/forum/notifications.xml It also happens when you go to: new content -> rss. The url is like this: http://www.server.com/forum/discover/1.xml This two xml files don't exist and neither does the discover directory. Is this working for everybody ?
Nathan Explosion Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Work fine - those files (and the discover directory) don't exist because they are friendly urls.Look at your ACP, search for 'Friendly' and look at the resulting 2 items - one if for enabling/disabling friendly urls and the other is for customising the urls....and that is where you will see the above urls.

Lince Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 Thanks Daniel, Great reply. I wish I had gotten this reply from the client area when I reported this issue instead of the reply I got. The problem is solved now, it was an issue with the server I use for static content because it wasn't sending the request to apache for .xml files. Regards.
