SJ77 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Checked my site after breakfast and was surprised to find blank white error screen of death. Checked error log and figured out a cache file was having issues. 2016/01/16 21:19:00 [error] 6414#0: *380680 FastCGI sent in stderr: "PHP message: PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '":"' (T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING) in /myforum/datastore/cacheKeys.3e62f65ff4.php on line 6" while reading response header from upstream, client: 40.77.167.54, server: mydomain.org, request: "GET /forum/index.php?topic=2257.msg54625 HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://127.0.0.1:9000", host: "www.mydomain.org" I deleted the cache file from datastore and the site returned to normal but I am concerned about this. I don't like the idea of my entire site going offline until I happen to check it and fix it. any ideas?

Ahmad E. Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Don't really see a syntax error. Seem more like the file wasn't served completely and is something wrong on your (server) end rather than with the IPS software.
Adlago Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 @superj707 Your first posting -> this error is a record of a visit to the msn bot -> missing a topic for which this bot has a link. You have a problem at the server level. Several tests are bad gateway /only test server Gtmetrix/ Google test - your server reacts very slowly - after 58 seconds You also have many errors html5 https://validator.w3.org/nu/?doc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.curvage.org%2Fforum%2F From my computer your site work - slowly, but without error. I think - the problem is your server

I would do a support ticket. The parse error is from an unexpected '":"' in the cache file generated by the forum software. You simply may have found a new bug that IPS would like to know about.

I figured it out. memcache was missing it's php driver so IPS tried to use this clever strategy of writing to a cached data file. Problem is if it tries to cache more than one thing at once. (if your site is busy) the file it's writing to blows up and the whole site goes down in flames. TERRIBLE idea IPS..

hmikko Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I had a very similar problem. Randomly, I saw a blank page. Sometimes twice or even more times a day. After running "Something isn't working correctly" site went back online again (ACP worked as intended). IPS Support suggested to switch data storage from file system to MySQL. After that haven't got any issues. On my case, I did not use Memcached or any other method. Nice to hear I'm not the only one with similar problem (having a problem isn't nice).
