Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Darkgrim Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Hello. I am trying to enable rewrite URLs on my new installation. I ensured that mod_rewrite is enabled on my server and I am also using it for another domain without issue. When I try to enable the option via the admin panel the "switch" turns itself off and I get this message -"The rewriting does not seem to be working. Make sure you have uploaded the .htaccess file correctly or contact technical support for assistance."I tried to download the provided .htaccess a couple of times and nothing changed. Any ideas?Thank you!
LukasGr. Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I got the same issue but nothing I can do against. My hosting provider is not allowing some of the code needed in the htaccess file. So you may try to contact your hosting provider as well. They might block something.
Owdy Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I moved foder, then friendly urls worked all other parts, only under pages module they didnt. There has to be a bug...
Darkgrim Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 Interesting...How do we go about reporting a bug?
opentype Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Interesting...How do we go about reporting a bug?Better open a support ticket. It’s something that needs to be checked out on your site anyway. It’s not a general bug that would affect all users.
Darkgrim Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 Alright. I will do that.I find it to be an IPB bug because I have no problems with URL rewrites on 3 other websites I currently host on the same server.
