broni
There is a setting in ACP: Get notified when a new user registers via email...yes or no I like to get notified but there is one problem. Those notifications come as soon as someone completes registration process. To avoid spammers after registration you have to reply to confirmation email. Most spammers won't do it so let's say on average I'll have 1 confirmed registration out of 10 attempted. I'd like to see an option to get notified about new registration but only when it's confirmed. As of now I'm getting tons of notification email but only a handful of those people become members. There are so many spammers (spambots) out there that I have to disable notifications about new registrations because they were just choking my inbox. Rhett
I would recommend that you set level 3 & 4 to not allow registration on the spam service, then also make sure you have a strong question and answer validation, that should do the trick. RPG-support
KeyCaptcha will prevent 99% of bots registrations and 5-10% of real men registrations.
wimg
Actually, adding a few security questions even with the answer added to the question, will prevent 99.9 % of bot registrations, and about 0.05 % of real people registrations... :D Warm regards, Wim
