Elbmek Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Please please please revert to auto quotes instead of us having to click on quotes, CAREFULLY insert quote and then, when published removing quote marks to show as ordinary text!!!this is a pain in the proverbials this is a pain in the proverbials And then after using it it allows me to normal cut and paste - weird?
Management Matt Posted November 4, 2011 Management Posted November 4, 2011 I don't understand. You can highlight text and then hit the quote button.
Elbmek Posted November 25, 2011 Author Posted November 25, 2011 what is wrong with the old method, of cut and paste? Having to use the quotes is not beneficial and then placing the cursor within the ][ to place text. What was wrong with the old method , pasting which then auto quoted. My members hate it.

Adriano Faria Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Hitting the quote button quotes the entire post for me. I wish I could do a partial quote by highlighting. For me too; the whole post content.
AndyF Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 I could not get this to work either, tried various methods. Was not aware it was built in. There is this though available > http://community.inv...ective-quoting/
Michael Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 I don't see any way to do what Matt's describing, but I don't understand what the OP's issue is either. Hit Quote on a post, remove what you don't want, type your response, hit Post.

Hit Quote on a post, remove what you don't want, type your response, hit Post. That's peachy for short posts, but not all posts are short. What if you want to reply to each paragraph of a 10 paragraph post? It's a lot more complicated now than if we could just highlight, hit quote, type our reply, go back and highlight, hit quote, etc.

I don't see that highlighting each paragraph and hitting the quote button each time is going to be a big time saver as opposed to just quoting the whole post and breaking it up manually.

It is for people that aren't good with computers. Highlight & click is easier for the less computer savvy members than having to type out commands.
