Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
MadMikeyB Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Using opera, it appears Sphinx is broken, rendering these forums main feature that I use, useless. Couldn't search to check if this had already been posted.. cos.. well... the search system is broken.
Biker.GA Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Works fine for me as well. Opera 10.11 / i686, 2.6.31.11
bfarber Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Most likely this was a temporary glitch. The error you see would not be browser-based, and it indicates a file is missing (which clearly isn't). Probably someone was uploading a new file at the exact time you attempted to search. :)
TestingSomething Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 I see the Nexus tab is on here, so maybe that if the issue was recent? lol
MadMikeyB Posted July 6, 2010 Author Posted July 6, 2010 Still not working. I am using Opera and I have been getting this error since yesterday now. *tries chrome*
MadMikeyB Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 It works to a guest. Not when I'm logged in, tested on all browsers. I've figured out why it was doing it. I had my twitter account connected to my IPS account, until I disallowed it access yesterday via twitter, without disconnecting it through IPB. I reconnected twitter and it works now. So, chain of causality: Connect Twitter to IPB http://twitter.com/settings/connections > Revoke IPS Access (without disconnecting twitter from the IPB side) Search becomes broken
bfarber Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Connect Twitter to IPB http://twitter.com/s...ngs/connections > Revoke IPS Access (without disconnecting twitter from the IPB side) Search becomes broken While I'm not clear on how that could cause a file to be "missing", I recommend posting the issue in the bug tracker so we can investigate.
.Ian Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I get this error every few days - but then it soon goes away.
bfarber Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 This was reported as a bug and I made some code changes that should hopefully sort it.
