Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Worldoversea Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 How do you add a recurring event (example meeting) that happens every second Tuesday of every month at 8 PM? You can't! This would be a handy feature indeed to add to the Calendar in that I have users that meet for certain events every other Tuesday or a every second Thursday of every month at a certain time. Rather than enter this for the entire year on separate entries, you enter once and your done! Many thanks. JB
Claudia999 Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 I need such recurring events too - every second tuesday in every month, p.e. I am surprised that this is not possible - it's a standard feature in other software :ermm:
Claudia999 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Can somebody of IPS talk about this "bug" or when we can have a solution, in which version of IP.B? It's a standard feature in other community software :(
SteveOrM3L Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I really would be interested in this, considering we use this for our municipal/goverment website.
KitCarl Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 This is an important feature! More organizations set their monthly meeting date this way rather than say the 7th of each month.
SteveOrM3L Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Still waiting to hear about any consideration of expanding the options.
NiftyWolfie Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I too would like to add my voice to have recurring events added to the calendar
Pfeiffer Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Add my voice to this one too. Still waiting for an improved Calendar with better RSVP events and topic creation for events. Maybe this all fits in same process.
Joe D Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 I can do recurring events in weeks, months, year and set if it is an all day event or a specific time event on my forum 3.1.4 I do it for all military events and it works nice, this is the standard and no hooks for this.
Claudia999 Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 I can do recurring events in weeks, months, year and set if it is an all day event or a specific time event on my forum 3.1.4 We mean something other - recurring events like "every first tuesday in every month" or even "every first tuesday of every second month". We don't mean "every 15. in every month". ;)
Jaymez Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Im all for calendar improvements. There aren't many kick ass online calendars for CMS/CCS out there.
megmeyer Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Add me to the list. I asked about this WAAAAAAAAAAAAY back in 2.1.x. It is a standard issue for anyone using a calendar for a club of any sort. Our membership meeting is the second Wednesday of every month, BOD meeting is 1st Wed. of every month. Just about EVERY other calendar software I have researched has this capability. It would save me a TON of time, and I always forget where I stopped adding the damn things. On top of that, I can't copy an event - another would-be-nice-to-have feature. At least that way, I could copy the 1 meeting, and just keep changing the date. But no, I have to type in all the body of the event, and the title of the event EVERY month. Gets really old, really quick. PLEASE - I can't believe it is that complicated to add this logic to the calendar.
Claudia999 Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 In current 3.2 preview this feature is not yet implemented. I don't understand. In vBulletin is this a feature since many years. What's the problem? Or can we hope for this feature in gold version?
megmeyer Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 No lie. Apparently, they want me to switch to joomla, and some other forums software. I can't believe this is STILL an issue.
KitCarl Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Staff, Please, please revisit this issue. You have added many wonderful features to the updated Calender, but without this one feature, the application is nearly unusable to many whose boards deal with clubs that schedule there weekly/monthly events via this format.
