Smokey-Rev Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Yes that's what I got before. Also, when the game IS uploaded, when you go to save a high score it gives you an error.
Joe D Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Would you be kind enough to put me on the list the next time a slot opens up for an arcade file. I would love to add an arcade to my forum. Thanks for all you do!
Collin1000 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Ok, I am getting an error as well. When I go to upload a tar file, it states the game was upload and the game is listed. If I check the game and then click for it to be untarred, it says it's installed but it's not. When I go to manage games, there is a game listed without a name and without a .swf attached. Screen Shot attached. Dont check the box. Just click on the name. That should work. Please report back Yes that's what I got before. Also, when the game IS uploaded, when you go to save a high score it gives you an error. This is because you have an incorrect prefix, as we are discussing via PM.
Smokey-Rev Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 if we're not supposed to click the box, why is it there? :P i don't think the prefix is wrong, it's using the default ibf_ prefix.
Collin1000 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 i don't think the prefix is wrong, it's using the default ibf_ prefix. Ive fixed the same problem 3 times today. Im willing to bet yours is the same fix. if we're not supposed to click the box, why is it there? :P Because, in theory, you can upload a buncha files one by one and then unpack them all at the same time. In practicality, the untar function was painfully slow and causing PHP to come screeching to a halt, so I yanked out the function, and the checkbox just stayed behind. This is why we beta. :shifty:
A Walk in Faith Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 OK, I just tried it again with a different game similar/same results. I tried it twice, once without clicking the box but clicking the name of the game. It went through the routine, but didn't install. Clicking Manage Games, it still isn't listed. Attempting again, but clicking on check box and clicking to untar the game, the routine runs, and under the Manage Game area there is another game loaded, but it's blank title with blank .swf file like my above screen shot. Unsure of what to try next. Jamie

legionaire Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Check and double check that your file paths are correct, this one was popping up on me until I got the file paths correct. If you are like me, you may think they are correct, but it is looking for a very specific file path and will not work correctly until you get it right in the games path I left mine as default (location of the game files that is) /home/USER/public_html/my_forum_path/admin/applications_addon/other/iArcade/games/all (where user is the name given in your path statement when you signed up for your webhosting service) in the web location, you must have your forum path at the beginning with a prevailing / /your_forum_path/admin/applications_addon/other/iArcade/games/all (this is true unless you have your forum in the root directory, then take away at the beginning of the web location and begin with /admin/........ or whatever the path to your GAMES location is) There should be NO trailing slashes This is just what I had to do to get everything working correctly :)
tAPir Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Same here, will this evening reinstall the arcade and try againI had this trouble. I went to ipbarcade and made sure that I downloaded from the thousands of v2 games. The games tar files I had were obviously damaged as the fresh downloads installed correctly.
tAPir Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 in the web location, you must have your forum path at the beginning with a prevailing /I had to remove the prevailing slash in order that the game .gif files displayed.
Andy Rixon Posted February 15, 2010 Author Posted February 15, 2010 Would you be kind enough to put me on the list the next time a slot opens up for an arcade file. I would love to add an arcade to my forum. Thanks for all you do! I don't think there will be another private BETA release, I think the next release will be a public RC release :D
Andy Rixon Posted February 15, 2010 Author Posted February 15, 2010 I had to remove the prevailing slash in order that the game .gif files displayed. Seems to be alot of confusion with the game paths :s, maybe more documentation is needed, although there is enough right now, PLEASE REMEMBER TO READ INSTRUCTION :P

Collin1000 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 BUG FIXES FOR EARLY ADOPTERS: Beta5 has been out less than 24 hours, but there are still 3 common bug fixes that are known, and should help with these issues: *TAR IMPORT CHECKBOX: Do not tick the box and submit the form, Just click on the name of the game. It should install fine.*USERS WHO ARE NOT USING "localhost": You need to modify your index.php to use the correct connection port. *ICONS NOT DISPLAYING (PATHS): Because everyone's setup is different, you should tinker with your webpath settings. Most users should be able to make this work without a leading slash, however your install may differ. I will address this issue by changing the way paths work in the next release. Thanks to everyone who is helping.
Andy Rixon Posted February 15, 2010 Author Posted February 15, 2010 I DID read it lol. That's why I posted in answer to the OP :P Thats good then tAPir :D
Amy T Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Gee every one keeps reporting bugs before I do.
Collin1000 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Those of you in the beta who have not downloaded the files, please do so now, the download will go offline in about an hour.

The games tar files I had were obviously damaged as the fresh downloads installed correctly. i did used the tar files i used to install the games at my life forum, so it would be strange they would be corrupted but i will check the paths for a 3th time and install then some recent games.
Amy T Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I do have a suggestion though. As a test I was seeing what would happen if I uploaded a bunch of games via ftp to the tar folder just to see if I could install a bunch at a time. Although I found after I did that they do not show in the admin cp any were so would be cool if you could upload via ftp and be able to install them via the admin cp.

Yes, this is because when they are uploaded, they are added to the iarcade_tars table. I am looking at a solution as a workaround to this so you can use FTP.

Amy T Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Ok I know how to install games but now I have a few questions. Might sound stupid but here goes. Where are the settings for the game path? Where are the permissions settings so I can play the games and allow others to play them?
