troskal Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Has anyone experience converting big boards to IP and running boards with more than 1 million posts. How's performance? Any problems you ran into when converting? How's search? My board has: 1.5+ million posts Lots of megathreads (more than 30k posts per thread) MySQL database is about 1.3 gigs (40% is index data) 3+ gigs worth of attachments (stored in file system) Running on two seperate machines SQL gets ~200 queries per second Web server load average is about 0.8

LaCollision Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Hi there, My IPB forum runs like a charm with 1.5 million posts : http://www.clubpoker.net/forum-poker This is the 2.3.6 forum but I'm about to upgrade to 3.x. I had some issues with the conversion from phpBB2, but since then, I'm a happy customer.
dr. Jekyll Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Troskal have you a link? :) @ Nikolas, congratulation for your board ;)
Jinkler Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 I've got a forum of a similar size (1.6gb, 1.2 million posts) and the only problem I'm having with converting is the server, it can't hack running two large databases at once.
at_a_glance Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Invision handles our forum (more than 1 million posts) beautifully.
.Ian Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 We run Sphinx on our site with 1.7 million posts - the server has other sites running on it as well (including other forums) - we have had over 400 in a 15 minute period (currently 150) and our load is 0.43
