broni Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 I want it back, as it was in ver. 2.x Going through user control panel to do it is a major pain.
broni Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 Ooops, must be some other type of board. It'd be nice to have a feature like that.
Artefaqs Corporation Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Thirded. I'm surprised this isn't already in there. As much as I like the extra ad revenue from people clicking back to the forum to unsubscribe, I'd rather not annoy people. Also, one would think that an unsubscribe link would be required under the CANSPAM act. But I'm not a lawyer.
IPBSupport.de Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 *sign* A unsubscribe link would be great, also for the newsletter system!
TCWT Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Quite a few people requested this before. I don't know what's the holdup.
rct2·com Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 +1 I've been asking for this since before v2. :(
mld11 Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 I fifth or sixth it. Whatever number we are on.. lol
optrexnz Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 I operate in NZ and technically I am supposed to have one by law, as required in their new anti spam regulations. So please put me down for this feature too.
squidfish Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 I would also like this feature! This is quite critical :)
Morrigan Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 [quote name='optrexnz' date='17 October 2009 - 11:19 PM' timestamp='1255846742' post='1868277'] I operate in NZ and technically I am supposed to have one by law, as required in their new anti spam regulations. So please put me down for this feature too. Being that a forum is not a mailing list I don't think that this is correct. As for the topic itself I believe you can (at least until it's implemented as standard) add it manually into the email template. Also, to make this even clearer, I don't believe there is a way to unsubscribe via a link. You can link a member to the notifications tab in the profile and they can manually turn off their notifications. If you need help with this I suggest a post in Peer to Peer. ;)
broni Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 Of course, there is. vBulletin has that option.I don't believe there is a way to unsubscribe via a link

broni Posted July 2, 2010 Author Posted July 2, 2010 Hmmm....I guess, it's a matter of adding a piece of code?
squidfish Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 IPB has the potential to be the best software on earth. We are just suggesting some improvements that will get them there!! :) So as we were saying, ....an unsuscribe link in forum generated emails would be terrific. Thank you. :)
Painted Horse Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Most other sites that send me mail also include the ability to unsubscribe from such notices within that same email via a clickable link. Seems silly that it is not done here. I also would like to see this changed for the future.
