SEF urls

Can I ask what happened to the SEF urls?

Obviously its a little hard to search for SEF related stuff with a 4 letter search limit, but a lot of the posts and blogs around suggest it was due to be implemented as standard on IPB 3. Where do I find it?

For those not aware of SEF urls, they make http://forums.invisionpower.com/forum/297-ips-company-feedback/ look like Invision Power Services -> IPS Company Feedback

Err, they are already enabled here? You also need to post in P-2-P if you need help :)

I dont need help with them yet, unless they are supposed to be an active feature. I currently dont see SEF urls in posts here (in the format as described above), but in the blog and preview there was reference to them being standard in IPB3.

SEF stands for search engine friendly. IPB3 supports SEF urls. It does not support a feature that retrieves page titles for posted links, which is what you are talking about, and which is NOT "SEF urls".

Look in the address bar. Link for this page is

http://forums.invisionpower.com/topic/292999-sef-urls

That is a search engine friendly URL. I think you've simply confused what "SEF url" means in this case. :)

No. No, there is not.

Thanks, I didn't think so. I'm no SEO guru, but I always thought they meant the same thing, and Google confirmed that when I couldn't find any sites mentioning there being a difference.
