China J Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Just so everyone knows, this is one of the few topics I'd like to say in advance I'm putting in my support for as well. ;) Josh and I have been brainstorming on this and have some really good ideas for how tagging could be used, especially centralized across all our products through one core. This suggestion is definitely on our radar.I hope this is in 2.3.4 :P Just hopeful wishing. Sites that I have ran into that do have something similar I find myself using the option as I think in the back of my mind I'm actually doing something useful even if its just two or three keywords. This would certainly be a Top #1 for the gallery.
WoLeRiNe` Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 CSEO will integrated TAG SYSTEM in the next version. They will release this month, in 2week :D
William Burdine Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Well it didn't make it in to v2.3.4, but if bfarber is liking the idea....maybe just maybe :) FYI LINKY NO WORKY -> http://www.essentialcoding.com/products.html I guess he changed his site around and hid it from view...bummer, cause I would have paid the $15.00 for it.

Gallery, Downloads and Blog are the modules that would most benefit from tags (although it certainly couldn't hurt the forums either) especially when you consider that Gallery has currently very limited search capability so the ability to tag images would be great.
Carl M Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Dont know if you guys know already but vb have included this in the forthcoming release of 3.7.0
Carl M Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Yes it would seem its going to be added in 3.0 its just someone said ipb would be the first forum software to include it, i was just saying its added to vb already.
BryanH Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Any confirmation on whether this is really going to be in 3.0?
fishfood Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Good news on this ... But the link above doesn't work anymore. There is an excellent tagging module available from www.communityseo.com/Tagging_Invision_ipb.htm. If IPB 3.0 is going to include tagging as default, can we please please please ensure there is a means to import the existing tags from this 3rd party mod. Tags are by definition a community intensive application requiring the consistent commitment of the users to build up the database. If we suddenly upgrade to v3.0 and they've all gone I can well imagine one seriously cheesed of community, and the uptake of the new version of tags being somewhat unsupported bhy the users at large. In fact - why don't IPB just approach communitySEO to buy out the code and tweak it?
TrixieTang Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Why pay when its surely coming in IPB 3? :D I have heard this is going to be in IPB 3 :) Last I heard they said not to expect this in IPB 3, but it may be (and I'm guessing it very likely will be) in a future version.
Jυra Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 There is an excellent tagging module available from www.communityseo.com/Tagging_Invision_ipb.htm. I saw that. It doesn't tell how easy it is to install or the price.
