Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Guest Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Looks like the spam bots can decode the captcha in ipb2.2 now as well, pitty it has been good for a while, now it's back to pruning topics :(Does anyone have a good captcha modification (which doesn't need truetype font processing) to replace the standard captcha with?
bfarber Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 We found an issue with 2.2's captcha which is addressed in 2.3.
Guest Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 cool, any chance you could share the modification of the changed captcha code before the 2.3 release? :)
bfarber Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 1) I don't have the changes available off hand2) If we let it out what it is exactly, it will probably open up the spamming a bit more than it is now, which we'd like to avoid.
Stuart Elliott Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 I've still found adding a Custom field asking the new user to type in a number that matches the word above the most affective, I've not had a single spambot signup since I added that, when I was getting 2-3 a week previously.
