Hi Everyone,

We are running on 4.7.15 version and purchased classifieds from bbcode.it.

The classifieds page looks fine: https://www.singaporebikes.com/classifieds/

However, the same is not visible on home page (it used to be visible before).

The configuration was active and not changed recently.

Could you someone find attached screenshots and advise on fixing this issue please?

Looks like thats the issue, I just disabled the Ezoic ads and now the upgrade is completed.

I will follow this going forward.

Not seeing anything, From last 2 upgrades the direct download is not working. We are downloading the invision software manually from client Area and extracting that and uploading and updating the site.

Not sure whats wrong with last 2 upgrades, this is making our site upgrade process so much painful.

@Jim M Did you see any of such issues from others as well?

Seeing this below and nothing is working even after trying manual installation.

The issue is successfully resolved by @Afrodude 

After upgrading the PHP to 8.1 and increasing the memory, the upgrade was successful.

We are really thankful for your help and advice again!!

@Marc Stridgen We will surely do that once the service is back online.

Do you think that is the reason for the current upgrade failure as well?
Because we have observed similar errors since around Dec 2020. So, we doubt that as blocker for the current upgrade error.

I started upgrading the System version to 4.7.11, initially its stuck at Upgrade step.

Hence I tried installing manually by downloading the software and uploaded after extracting.

Now admin/upgrade started the upgrade, but its been stuck and our site is down from more than 4-5 hours.

Its almost similar to what happened here , but this time still its not moving forward.

@Afrodude Helped me on how to upgrade manually and its done smoothly.

Whats not clear is, when we say upload all the files after ftp login, where those should be uploaded - is there any exact location ?

It doesn't work infact Upgrade was broken and its still showing old version.

Also, not giving option to enable "Blogs", see this below

Somehow the upgrade was completed now, but the "Blog" was disabled.

What can we do to bring back the blog in our site?

How do we do that, can you provide the steps for the same?

Its asking to try to login and after I entered login details this is the state.

Its not doing anything and stuck like this below, let me know how can we bring our site back or troubleshoot this issue. Its been like this for around 1 hour and sessions expired and giving issue like this even after retry.

We are able to sucessfully upgrade after we installed above extensions listed for php8.0 and php8.1

Now site is working on both php8.0 and php8.1, but we are on php8.0

What is recommended from invision community side whether 8.0 is stable or 8.1 is more stable.

I am able to get the results after applying php 8.0 and its failing due to below reasons.

1. You do not have the cURL PHP extension loaded (or it is running a version less than 7.36) and the allow_url_fopen PHP setting is disabled. You should contact your hosting provider or system administrator to ask either for cURL version 7.36 or greater to be installed, to be installed or the allow_url_fopen setting enabled. cURL is recommended.

2. You do not have the GD PHP extension loaded which is required. You should contact your hosting provider or system administrator to ask for it to be enabled.

3. You do not have the Multibyte String PHP extension loaded which is required. You should contact your hosting provider or system administrator to ask for it to be installed.

4. You do not have the MySQLi PHP extension loaded which is required. You should contact your hosting provider or system administrator to ask for it to be installed.

5. Your PHP memory limit is too low. It needs to be set to 128M or more. You should contact your hosting provider or system administrator to ask for this to be changed.

If the site is down, how can we check the above. Do you think the URL "https://www.singaporebikes.com/ips4.php" will still works when the PHP broken when its upgraded to 8.0 ?

We are running bikes forum in Singapore and use invision software. we are on the latest release and asking us to update php from version 7.4.30 to version 8.0.0.

So we tried to upgrade it using Cpanel under multi php manager. We update that to version 8.0 and now the forum not reachable and giving a 500 error. 

I reviewed few different topics on this in this forum and tried the suggested approaches.

I tried disabling the market place applications, I dont have any extra plugins and themes as well. What could be the issue?

Market place applications disabled to test this out and no luck.

We tried upgrading to 8.1 as well but no luck, what are we missing is there any issue at all upgrading to 8.0 for most of the folks ?

Site is showing as below after upgrade to 8.0/8.1 hence we reverted back to 7.4 version again.

Sure, we have cleared the system caches as specified. The system is recommending to upgrade php too, please see the screenshot and suggest. We will get the users info who are facing login issues.
