  1. I have switched it to Cron in the ACP, added the command on the server and changed the permissions to the task.php file.

I have done that yesterday and nothing had changed - the forums_archive_posts table is exactly the same size as it was three days ago before I have chosen the option to unarchive it all, tons of topics on my board are unaccesible due to the error I have pasted already twice in this topic and some seem to be unarchived which is really weird as the size of the archived posts table in the database hadn't decreased by even 1KB...

    Help...

Deselected the archiving to switch it off in your admin CP

I have deselected all the forums that were previously archived.

Once deselected, chosen the option to unarchive all

I have chosen the option to unarchive it all. I switched the archiving off.

I did not set any cron tasks (no one in this topic had mentioned it earlier). Not sure what kind of command should I use to get it done.

Ah, sorry I see what you are trying to do now. We are unable to provide instructions on how to backup a table and restore to another location.  If you are unsure how to backup and restore tables, you would need to contact your hosting company to assist you with this.

Could you provide proper instuctions in how to unarchive the content and help with the errors I am getting trough this process?

After trying to unarchive it in the ACP based on the little feedback I have recieved in this topic, a lot of the previously archived content is unaccesible with errors like this:

    Could contain: Page, Text

And some of the previously archived posts seem to not be archived anymore (aren't locked anymore). At the same time the table with forums_archive_posts has exactly the size as before I have taken any action.

The hosting company cannot help me with sorting these issues out.

Switch off archiving and it will ask if you wish to unarchive. That will be done gradually in the background (you will not actually see a background task in the list, if thats what you are looking for)

I have done that yesterday and I still dont see any changes in the size of the posts tables:

    Could contain: Page, Text

The forums_archive_posts table has the same size as earlier. Seems like nothing is happening in the background.

When browsing trough the topics that were previously set as archived, I see that some of those aren't archived anymore (they are not locked) and others cannot be open due to an error:

    Could contain: Page, Text

    Whats going on?

Again, your technical staff had written this in the ACP:

Could contain: Chart, Plot, Page, Text

It seems like some of these posts will have to be manually moved to the other storage.

Where can I find proper help or guide from Invision Community technical staff?

  5. How can I unarchive the already archived content? In the ACP, I have deselected all the forums that were already archived and nothing happens. There are no processes going in the background.

According to this statement in the ACP:

    Quote

If you have already set up archiving and want to change the storage location, you will manually need to move the posts which have already been archived. Contact technical support for assistance.

    There should be another way.

  6. Hello,

I need to urgently decrease the size of my boards database and therefore, I would like to archive most of the boards content (all the topics/posts/etc up to a year ago) to a seperate database. The thing is that I have already archived some of my boards forums into a seperate table of the same database and I am not sure how to move those into a seperate database dedicated only for archived content.

    In the ACP I see:

Could contain: Chart, Plot, Page, Text, Measurements

In the phpmyadmin it currently looks like this:

    Could contain: Text, Page

I have created an another database and filled in all the info in the ACP and arranged the settings to archive anything written on the board up to a year ago, but it seems like these new rules will affect only the posts from "forums_posts" table.

How can I include the already archived content from "forums_archive_posts" into the newly created database?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Greetings

  7. When using the "Truncate main topic post?" it cuts the post very strictly, sometimes in the middle of the word.

Is it possible to add something like: "(...) click to read more" or something?

Overall a great app. Thanks. ;)

  8. Hello,

My IPS board is attatched to a modest self written CMS for news and articles. I am looking for a solution where I could fully integrate the forums and CMS with the possibilities of having the same user account on both, various blocks with registered users, chatbox, newest posts/topics, etc.

I am strongly considering WordPress due to its massive widget library and it being for free. I would also like to give Invision's Pages a try due to hopefully very smooth integration between the two.

    Few questions about Pages:

    • I have the Forums license at the moment. Are you offering free trials for Pages? I would like to try it out on my live board, not seperate install.
    • My board is licensed to a "forum.domain.com" and the current CMS is operating at "domain.com". If I would decide to add Pages to my subscription, can I use it within the same Invision account on a "domain.com" instead of "forum.domain.com/pages" for example?
    • Does Pages or Invision in general have to possibility to automatically share the newly published articles to various social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, etc?
  9. I can’t replicate it.

In the same topic I linked above, imported YouTube video via rss is embedded in such a way that only half of the video is visible. It actually happens with every YouTube video embedded trough imported rss feed.

Is there a way to fix that?

  10. I can't access my board again with the same error as descibed in the first post. I havent been installing anything new in the last few weeks and everything worked fine. It might be a no longer supported widget/app, but I can't access the admin panel either to turn these off.

I dont have access to the server to check its error logs currently (sharing the board with someone else who I wont be able to reach within the next few weeks). I do have access to ftp though, so would it be possible to find some error logs there?

I wouldnt like to keep my board offline for the next few weeks. Is there anything I can do?

I am using the newest IPS version and PHP 8.1.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  11. Just installed the mod. I would like to add old topic desciptions and do it wia phpmyadmin and SQL. Can't find anything connected to forums description in "forums_topics" table. Could you explain to me where these descriptions are stored in the database?

    Greetings

  12. Hello,

    My board is not working:

    An error occurred (500 Error)

We're sorry, but a temporary technical error has occurred which means we cannot display this site right now.

You can try again by clicking the button below, or try again later.

When I am trying to enter the ACP, I am getting this:

    Quote

    An error occurred (500 Error)

We're sorry, but a temporary technical error has occurred which means we cannot display this site right now.

    syntax error, unexpected '->' (T_OBJECT_OPERATOR)

I've made an update to the newest version 3 days ago and everything was working fine until today.

Could you help me to solve this issue?

  13. @Nathan Explosion I have applied the patch after reading about it from your post here first. You have after edited the post with the additional information about changing the post time/date before applying the update. There's Community Support forum on this board and this one is by design meant to be for the Invision Support Team. Thanks for willing to help either way.

I've edited the post_time in the database with the correct time and so far it seems to be working well.

The advice in the first post was actually correct. There is nothing on the patch that states it will correct previous issues, and the patch is indeed what corrects the problem with dates changing.

I'm not sure what you are seeing there, and that certainly doesnt sound related and needs looking into. Do you have the ability to record what you are seeing so we can take a look?

I had to apparently adjust the date of the first post before the upgrade. That’s the problem.

I’ve recorded the topic on my phone. It shows that the post was posted on wednesday, which is not true. It’s the very first post of that topic. The video starts when the post was already doubled and shows the notification when the third one was added:

Can’t add files bigger than 48mb here. Need to find some hosting…
