    The My Groups option would be a great addition and I would also like to see this functionality on a per category basis.
    Svit - there is already a sidebar block that allows latest collabs (groups) to show.

    Hi Kevin
    Could we possibly have a few other options as well;
    Abiity to choose how many collaborations appear in the list on the category overview on a per category basis.
    Ability to disable Collabs displaying on a members profile card or some way that they are truncated, again on a per category basis would be ideal as this list becomes quite long and messy.
    Latest post info on the category listing page with Collabs appearing in bold if they contain new content and total post stats within a collaboration on the category listing  page just as forum categories work as an alternative layout to the existing to provide more flexibility and again layouts selected on a per category basis.
    Lastly a latest post sidebar block for posts from collabs to help integrate their content across the rest of the suite. Choice of which categories to include would be superb.
    Sorry for the wish list but I'm just wanting to make this more flexible.
    Thanks

    Hi @Kevin Carwile
    I would really like to see an expansion pack for Commerce, one where rules can be created based on;
    product purchased invoice status account credit transaction status support ticket dept support ticket status support ticket severity support note added support reply added That would really help us to link the purchase of a product, use rules to create a collaboration and create a support ticket to the member in order to help them set it up fully whilst being able to create an announcement on the forum and more. The options would be endless with this added to the excellent options already available.
    Thanks

    They are both amazing pieces of kit @Kevin Carwile and you deserve an enormous amount of credit for both of them, they have absolutely transformed the way we use IPB4 and for me IPB should pay you a significant amount of money and incorporate these into the core so you can retire to a desert island and live the dream .... in the meantime I thank you for your flexibility in developing both applications. I have let you a review on the GC application back on the 29th April but it is still showing as hidden and not yet approved. Not sure who approves them, you or IPB but its there pending somebody seeing it

    Ya, I understand. The complete set of ECA's that you'll need to fit those needs aren't far away. Hang in there.
    I like the way you're stretching the software out. Keep up the good work!

    Currently, rules only includes form fields to edit integers, text fields, and yes/no switches. I will be expanding the available form options to include node selectors, member selectors, and editors. When that is complete, you will be able to accomplish your goal as you had mentioned using rules.

    Feature Request
    It would be great to get some sidebar widgets for group collaboration to extend the two of latest and featured that focus on the content, latest topic on specific collaboration, latest posts on specific collaboration. Another would be current members of this collaboration.
    Many Thanks

    Am a little confused by your first sentence. We only offer a paid version, granted it is almost free at 99 cents  . There are only a few individuals with the beta version that got it for free and I don't believe you were one. Where exactly did you find a free version? Unless you mean the default one that comes with IPS4, which isn't really my version
    We are actually in the process of adding member group exclusion for both this widget and our Top Posters + widget.

    @Police Community
    Interesting predicament. I may need to enable the source editor on the wysiwyg for you to setup the link. My guess is that the tokens are being url encoded when you enter them as a url component, and therefore not being replaced properly.
    I'll look into this.

    I'd be more than happy to help you out.
    1. On the first rule, it sounds like you're using the correct event and have the action set up correctly, but you're having trouble with the condition portion of your rule.
    Event: Member profile is updated Condition: Check array value ( You want to check the array of profile fields that have changed for the "pp_main_photo" key ) Action: Create new topic rule-when-member-photo-is-updated.xml
    2. What you want to do in a situation like this is to create a custom action which you will use to create the topic. You will then schedule this custom action to happen in 30 days. That custom action then becomes a new event in the system that you can attach additional rules to so that you can check conditions when that action is invoked at the scheduled time, and take additional actions at that time such as either creating the topic if the member has indeed been inactive for the 30 days prior, or if not, rescheduling the custom action to happen again in another week or so which will repeat the process indefinitely.
    As for the scheduling key portion of the equation, whenever you schedule an action, custom or not, you can enter a "scheduling key" for the action which will give it a unique identity so that you can operate on it later (such as delete it, or re-schedule it). When you use a scheduling key, you usually want to include a token of some sort from the event that will make it unique to a certain aspect of the event, such as the member id of the user it is being scheduled for. So the scheduling key for your use would look something like this:
    create inactive topic for member:[member:member_id]So when you schedule an action again with that same key, the old one is removed and only the new one remains (hence re-scheduling).

    I will build some API methods into the application that you can use to query content from a specific collab.

    @Police Community I feel your pain. As much as I've tried to lead our community away from the "main forum index" as the single page to look for new content, they still expect that to be the place that everything is collected. It's rather frustrating, but there it is.
    And since almost every community on our site is read-public, in the global "View New Content" page people have to wade thru new posts in subject areas they don't care about.
    A quick way to fix it might be a category that says "My Collaborations" on the New Content page. This way you can limit the view to just what you care about, and join/leave collaborations to affect whether they appear there. You'll still have the global setting if you want to read everything (like I do).

    Hi @Kevin Carwile - Appreciate this is my third request in a row but hopefully it will allow you to answer them all in one go ... :-)
    We have launched this now on our site and our members are loving it, the thing they are asking for is for a way for them to identify if there is new content in a particular collaboration. I appreciate they can use the Global View New Content but things are difficult to identify in there if you are trying to filter down to a collaboration as thats not an option.
    Is there a way to highlight which have new content, does view new content only show content for collaborations that they have 'joined' or all if they have view access to them all? Is there anyway that this could be improved to make it easier?
    Previously we had all of the collaborations as individual sub forums under a main category displayed on the board index and if new content appeared in one of those areas then the forum would be highlighted bold on the board index. Because collaborations are now not controlled as individual forums that are available for display on the board index we have replaced this with a series of re-directs straight into the collaborations but because they are re-directs none of them show if new content is available by going bold. That will hopefully give some context as to what our members are effectively used to.

    Thanks
    Wayne

    Yes, I agree fully. The commerce expansion has not been forgotten.
    But it is going to be the largest expansion pack of them all as there is much more than what has already been listed for it to be a complete package.
    First I need to get out a much smaller expansion to cover the core IPS downloads app, and then I will start on the ECA's for the commerce app.
    And at some point in between all of this, I need to get some documentation written on how other developers can include their own ECA's in their apps using rules extensions in the developer center. My goal and hope is that all apps will be customizable with rules at some point.

    Thats member management, and yes, GC does that. Member permissions, roles, ranks, and invite system is all included.
    I believe that the roster management request is in reference to building some sort of a tournament management system into GC.
    But that would be a separate app with its own objectives and its own price point.

    Thanks Kevin - sorry one last question for now as we are working through the configuration and the discussions is that whilst we can transfer a whole forum from the main ipb to collaboration, if we have a thread in the main forum that would be better in a collaboration for example, is there a way of moving that one thread?
