Simon.AU reacted to Marc Stridgen in Caching of static media files is problematic
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.

Hi @Simon.AU,
Thanks for looping back and letting us know. If you encounter any other issues, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

There would be no other way in which to do this unfortunately.

Always bare in mind that when stating "we've only changed", this is by very definition custom. Its always worth checking those items first, as you have seen there. The simplest way to check first of all is by going to support in the admin CP, clicking customisation overview, and clicking disable. You can then open your site in another tab and check if the issue is present. You can then click to enable again once done. Its just a quicker way for you to check

Thanks for the reply, I have actually sorted this one, turned out my code was perfectly fine and it was the anonymous posting abilities of the users on the categories that was the issue.

Simon.AU got a reaction from itlo in Databases
Hi all,
Using the cloud version of Invision Community here. Does anybody know whether there is a way to interact with the "databases" component (Pages > Content > Databases in the ACP) with php functions, that I could embed into custom blocks?
The ultimate aim here is to manage a list of selected names that are shown on a particular page, and we need to make this list easy to update.
Another alternative would be file access (using a .csv or .json file), does anyone know if it's possible to access media files via php in this way? eg. like the { media="id" } path that is available for URLs.
cheers
David

Sounds like a theme issue. Does this happen on a stock unmodified theme? If so, have you disabled your various plugins and custom applications?

Then there is something broken on your site. You can certainly click on the checkbox. Example from this website:

Thanks Mark, it's working now with all the combinations I tried. Looks like it's fixed 🙂

You need to give a better description of what kind of page that is, so we can tell you what options apply.

Instead of adding it to the media library, you can just literally add it as an attachment to the article. See attached as an example of a Word document (.docx).
Sample.docx
You can do the same thing in a Pages article and include an attachment right from the editor. (I tested this on one of my Pages articles to confirm this.)

It indeed relates to displayname. Often that wont make a difference as all members really should have a displayname, unless they happen to be in the process of registering

Hi Marc,
I was just using the default filter options, ie. not changing anything/everything included.
And now it's just working, although I haven't changed anything... I don't understand why, but I'll take it as 'fixed', thanks.
Perhaps you can clear one thing up for me though - the last filter option, "member name":
Which field does this relate to? I'm assuming "Display name"? It doesn't make a difference what option I select for it though (ie. before it was still returning an empty excel file with 2 extended ascii characters, and now it works regardless).
thanks
David

Development is beyond the scope of our standard support unfortunately. However I have moved this ticket to our developer connect forum, as its better placed to get you the assistance you need.
