Martin has kindly provided an updated version of mmer map that can be unistalled. If you install it then it overwrites the problem version, which can then be uninstalled. Job done 😀

Yes, I was aware of that. That is why I filed this in the 'Requests" forum rather than the "Support" forum. It was just a suggestion for a future release. Perhaps I shouldn't have asked if anyone had a solution under the current release. For now I have minimised the effect by linking the 'click' back to the Main Page and as the user probably still has his mouse on the Primary Menu item he sees the Secondary Menus still displayed on the second item.

Can you give me an example ? I had already tried that and all the other type options force me to use the type as a title. I want a custom title. Sorry, I would have to disagree with that. If you drag and drop a secondary menu under a primary menu defined as a drag & drop type the primary menu will still display them as a drag and drop menu rather than displayong them as a secondary menu. Perhaps I should restate my requirement. "I want to define a Primary Menu Item that has a custom title, will display Secondary Menu options on the second line of the banner, and is not required to respond to a mouse click". Make more sense ? Al

I tried doing that but understandably, it converts the Primary Menu to a drop-down menu so the Secondary Menu Items are displayed as a drop down option rather than being displayed on the second line of the Blue Banner which is what I want. This what I want: (with the "Useful Sites" menu option not reacting to a click. This what the type "drop-down" menu gives me: OK ? Al

As I understand it (very new to the software) if you create a custom Primary Menu item that will have a number of Secondery Menu items that you have to declare the type of the Primary Menu item as "External Link" and you are forced to enter a link to somewhere. Then when a user accesses the site and clicks on the Primary Menu (an instinctive action if you don't realise you just need to hover over it) then they are sent to whatever link you have entered. I would prefer it if the Primary Menu item ignored the click and simply continued to show the Secondary Menu items. Hope that makes sense, or maybe I have missed something and that option is already available ? Thanks

Hi, yes I see that. But I can't see how to disable the click action having an effect. If I click on any of my other primary menus they refresh themselves with the primary menu still selected. I just need to figure out what link to use, Good learning exercise 😀 Thanks for the help.

OK, got that, makes sense. But that requires me to specify an external URL. But I want selecting the primary menu to just show the secondary menu not go somewhere else. Any clues ?

I have a number of primary menu items that do not have secondary menus and two primary menus that have a number of secondary menus that appear on the second line All I want to do is create a new primary menu with two secondary menus that will also appear on the second line. When I look at the original primary menus that have secondary menus they have the 'drop-down' type selected, but if you look at the 'Edit dropdown' option for them there is nothing definmed. And they work correctly with secondary options appearing on the second line. So when I created the new primary menu I also set the type to drop-down then created the two secondary menus as we discussed. But when I try to use them they (understandably) work as drop-down. So I guess my question is "What type do I allocate to my new primary menu option so it will accept secondary options that will appear on the second line." Hope that is clearer. Al

Spoke too soon 😀 I created the new primary menu item and like other primary menus on our system that had secpndary items I selected the type as Drop-Down Menu. I then created two secondary items and dragged them under the primary one as you described. So far so good, it all worked. Later I decided to rename the primary item and after doing that, it all changed and they showed up as drop-down options rather than secondary menu items. Apparently I shouldn't have the primary item type as drop-down, but I can't see one that is relevant. How do I force them to be secondary menus rather than drop downs ?

Yes, although with a caveat. If the primary menui item already has some secondary menu items then dragging it under the primary menu slots it in quite happily. But if the primary menu item doesn't have any secondary menu items then dragging the proposed secondary item on to it doesn't work, it still remains as a primary menu. Is there a setting I have to allocate to a primary menu item that allows it to accept secondary items ? Or do I have to do something when I add an item to make it a secondary menu item rather than primary ? Hope that makes sense.

Sorry, I'm sure this is obvious but I can't see how to add a Secondary Menu Item to an existing First Menu Item. The Guide tells me how to remove them but not how to add them. Can anyone help ?

Hi Marc Sorry, a bit of confusion here. It's me (a customer) who wants to remove the application, not the author. I've been talking with Martin but we haven't been able to solve it. Because it was automatically disabled it isn't actually causing me any problem, it just means I get that huge red banner popping up everywhere telling me I have a non-compatible app. If I could remove the banner that would solve my problem 😀

Me again - I clicked on the prune and just as the screen was refreshing, I noticed the message recommending a database backup 🤦‍♂️ Can that be done via the portal or do we have to do that manually on our server? The prune function said the action was queued and has not yet been done so I'm assuming it might happen overnight (?) which means I may have time to do a backup before that? EDIT: ah, forget it, I see the pruning has started in the background...

Hi, I wonder if anyone could help, I have searched the forum but could not find anyone with this problem. I am brand new to the Invision software so still learning. It seems that after the recent upgrade, the change from PHP7 to PHP8 disabled the "Member Map" third-party extension. Luckily the author provided a new extension called "Commuity Map" which provides the same functionality. I have successfully installed that so to the user the system is fine. However, I now find I cannot uninstall the old "Member Map" extension. When I tap on the Uninstall button I get the confirmation box, but if I press the OK button all I get is a totally blank screen and nothing else happens. Regardless of how long I leave it the extension does not get uninstalled. I could just leave it at that, as it does not affect the behaviour of the system, but it's a bit annoying that now, every time I log on to the AdminCP, I get the big red warning banner that says I have an extension that will not work under PHP7. The author is very helpful but could not suggest a solution. The hoster has suggested a temporary downgrade to PHP7 to see if that helps, but I would prefer to avoid that if possible. Anyone any ideas ? Thanks Al

I am new to this community and setup, so bear with me...I do work in IT for a day job, which is probably a bad thing because I think I know what I'm doing but... 🙂 We have a self-hosted forum which has a lot of old users setup. We would like to tidy it up but the member screen in the portal doesn't show the last_activity field which I can see exists in the database. Now, I can easily write an SQL query that will remove the members directly from the 'ibf_core_members' table but I don't want to break the forum because I am guessing that the 'delete' option in the portal may do more than just remove that table entry?, I was going to test this on just 1 member first but I thought I'd check on here first...any suggestions?

Have just installed this and it is working great, but the location search doesnt work when you press save, you have to enter a search and then press use current location, and it puts the marker on the searched location instead.
