  4. This is the screen I get at Step 4 of the installation process.
  5. No, we have manually doenloaded the ZIP file and it opens correctly and everythinmg appears to be there. When the host tech support have a few minutes to spare (he's a one-man band and very busy) he will try and install it manually by inserting the files. I just wondered if there was simple fix we could do enable me to do it remotely via the usual offical automatic route. Al

Trying to install the update from my location (not at the server location) and I get the following error: "There was an error downloading the files to your server" My hoster tells me his log is showing: Thu, 25 Jan 2024 08:55:18 +0000 Exception::0 Could not list the files in the zip #0 /home/rhocar/public_html/admin/upgrade/extract.php(643): Extractor->extract(0) #1 {main} We have downloaded the zip file and that file is definately present. Any thoughts ? Alan :

Unfortunately, he is doing this from a beach on holiday at the moment 🙂 I'll leave him to it then...thanks for the response 👍 Hi Marc Thanks for the quick response, my deputy was a bit confused over the meaning of AdminCP. All sorted now. I just cleared the cache and ir does seem to have sorted the problem. I'll run some further checks and let you know. Cheers Al
  10. Yes, I wanted to do that but the only account I have been given is this one (rhocar) which does not seem to have admin permissions? Without access to the original webmaster who created this site, any idea how I give this account admin permissions? Later from other Admin rep: This happened straight after I did the monthly update. It has also affected a few other things: 1. When sending a message the recipient box does not display members names after entering a few characters. 2. On the mobile version of the sites the menu (3 bars icon) has no effect. If no-one else is reporting a problem I assume it must have been a corrupted update. I will have to contact our host to do a restore from our last backup.
  11. Hi, Our car club forum (www.rhocar.org) is not allowing any text entry (new posts/replies/messages) - the screen looks like this: This started on Monday, Sept 4th - any ideas? (Apologies, I'm not very techy, I just try help the club out, so please be patient 🙂 )

  13. Thanks, but I have already tried that. I have set it to webmaster@rhocar.org, which is me, and I correctly receive the message. But it is also going to the address secretary@rhocar.org and he has no interest in it and is getting annoyed 😀 So how I can stop it being copied to him ?
  14. Is there a way of configuring where the message is sent, ideally just to one of the admin team ?
  15. Further to this, I eventually found the post by going into the user's profile and it was listed there with the red header. Unfortunately I still don't have the Unhide option on the drop down member. Hopefully he will be able to unhide it ?
  16. Thanks for that. I will have to contact the chap who hosts our platform and ask him for help. Alternatively I can get the original poster to post it again. As I understand it then, if I hide a post I should normally still be able to see it. Not sure what happened this time. Cheers Al

  18. Sorry, but I mean REAL newbie. Can you talk me thorugh it step-by-step ? I should point out that having hidden the post, I now cannot view it to access that drop down menu.

  20. A bit of a dumb question, but I accidently hid a post and I want to unhide it. I have moderator and admin status but cannot find the option. Have checked the Community but can't find the answer. Al
  21. Sorry to be a nuisance but I have solved it, I hadn't seen the Portal block option in the Customisation option in the Control Panel. Thanks for taking the time to help I promise to look harder next time. Al

  23. Thanks Marc. If you go to https://www.rhocar.org/ it is the second block down on the left side titled Welcome to RHOCaR. Unfortunately the person who originally designed the site is now long gone. Al
  24. On our main page we have a portal block that contains a welcome text and a rotating set of images. I need to update the text to reflect some small changes. I have tried using the Block Manager but if I highlight the block and select Edit all I get are options to change settings and visibility but not the contents. Reading the Guide seems to infer I need to have the Pages app to make such edits which seems rather an expensive way of making the small changes. Am I missing something ? Thanks Al
