  1. We have done this now, but it did not change anything. Posts in forums that is set not to count are still used for ranks.
  2. As topic says, we experience that rank does not seems to take into account forums that is set not to increase points.
  3. Sorry for the confusion Marc, the problem in question is not resolved. Appreciate a solution.
  4. Thanks. Appears that this has been set up in achievement rule: Same for Content item posted.
  5. Sorry, but I find this confusing. Is there any information available on how to configure Achievement Rules so that ranks are working correctly?
  6. Maybe I misunderstand, but the ranks page is still there and can be edited. Title, number of points and rank image can be edited and you can even create new ranks. No information that it's obsolete and it seems to be working apart from the problem in question.
  7. Thanks Matt, but we are not using achievements, just the good old rank system. I don't know for which release it broke, just discovered now that we have members in a higher rank than they deserve..
  8. We have also tried that plug-in, but it deletes lineshifts inside the content. Which may be intentional by the poster. Very much agree that a native way is needed, we avoid 3.party extensions at all costs.
  9. Are you okay with a topic that just says "I need help, please contact me"? If so you should say that in a pinned topic, there have been to many examples of customers that have disclosed information, either by mistake or ignorance.
  10. In 3.x spaces and newlines before and after the post content were removed. I suggest this is implemented in 4.x. See also this topic in the support section: dead-space-on-posts
  11. Thanks Marc, I'll give it a try.
  12. You can laugh, but it was through our and others support of 2/3.X IPS was made. I can't see why removing unnecessary empty space is a thing of the past.
  13. Sorry for my confusion, but can it really be that difficult to strip of spaces and linefeeds before and after the post content? This is a real problem that requires unnecessary scrolling. Which the subject of the current topic does not. Why was Brandons solution dropped in 4.x? After 19 years as a customer I see that as more of a black hole.
  14. Sorry for the confusion, maybe it's not technically correct to call it whitespace. I'm referring to unnecessary spaces and lineshifts/paragraphs the poster has made before and after the post content. This is a common problem. Brandons solution stripped them off. Release 3.x. I'm aware of the 3. party plugin, but this also strips double lineshifts inside content, which is not a good thing. Might be intentional by the poster.
  15. If this isn't annoying whitespace, then what is it? In the past I have suggested implementing Brandons solution again, to no avail.
  16. White spacing was eliminated 15 years ago by initiative from IPB "doctor" Brandon Faber. But in 4.x it was back. Has been mentioned several times, but IPB does not seems to care.. The avatar field might contribute, but that's because IPB hasn't realized that custom fields should be placed above the signature and, in the same way, should be possible to hide by members.
  17. As far as I can remember it did in a previous generation. Tasks could be run, stopped, scheduled. I asked because I wonder if task are running even if the result is not used. F.ex. if you don't display "Who is online".
  18. Before it was possible to configure processes and enable/disable them? Can't find it anymore in the ACP, Is this still available if you know where to look?
  19. Example: The lower limit for rank 3 is 300 posts. But some members are still placed in rank 3, despite having only 250 posts.
  20. We are only using the old rank system, one point pr post. Seems as if posts in a forum that is set not to increase posts is still counted when assigning rank? More details in our Access Information notes.
  21. I read your post, but could not find any 3. party add-on that could be of any help on this matter. Do you have a link? Why will this forthcoming functionality not be available to self hosting? It's we who pays for our own server who really need to lower this unnecessary load of sending wasted emails.
