  1. IPS said many years ago that they would look into this problem. Which, as you say, can have special impact on old forums. Loads of wasted notification mails. Not only because of extinct email accounts, but also because existing accounts are not active. We found examples of members that registered more that 10 years earlier, subscribed to our most popular forums, for then never to be seen again.
  2. I have yet to see a forum that charges for access. But most forums have ads. Can you give an example of a forum that gets a significant amount of their income from charging for access?
  3. Quote from @Matt in the deprecation thread: There cant be many forums, apart from maybe adult related, that make significant money out of charging for access. But lots of forums relies on advertising. Would have liked if IPB instead would use those resources for improving the primitive Advertisment system.
  4. It was marked with this symbol, I thought that indicated a non-customized default skin. The new default skin you created looks similar to me, contains the same templates that is marked as "Unique to this template", compare with the screenshot I posted above.
  5. But how, as said the Delete button does not work? And how can we know if they are used or not, we have never added any templates. Also, these orphaned templates are also present in the Invision default skin. Can the default skin inherit templates?
  6. But these templates are even present in our Invision default skin.
  7. It's modified by us. Just minor modifications, no templates added. We have never used any 3. party theme. We are not using any addons.
  8. During investigation of a problem in the error-log we found a suspected template which was marked "Unique to this theme". It also had a "Delete" button. We have never added any templates to the theme. Clicking Delete only removes the unique marking, template does not get deleted. Later we have found many more unique templates.
  9. Many thanks, that solved it. I wasn't aware of this setting and it's enabled by default.
  10. It seems to be visible for all groups, even guests.
  11. An inline comment will still show that the title has been edited and by which user.
  12. Thanks Jim. To my knowledge there is nothing special with the last comment, apart that it was added 8 years later.
  13. I would appreciate if you remove, or anonymize, that screenshot asap.
  14. Thanks. Then I suggest that IPB have a look at this for a coming release. At present it's an invitation to chaos and trolling.
  15. Referring to the topic list for a forum, not feed. Would prefer not to post link here.
  16. I mean an unique identifier that makes it possible to follow who is who in a topic. An IPB forum I use adds a code at the bottom of anonymous post, like this: Anonymous poster hash: afbc8...3c5
  17. Another thing, there seems to be no hashtags on anonymous post that can be used to tell posters apart. Is it supposed to behave this way or am I missing a setting for this?
  18. Can't find any information on this in the ACP settings.
