  1. Don't do 8.1 (yet) if you intend to use Imagik, it's not ready for 8.1.
  2. I haven't, but that looks like a possibility for at least the security side. I just do this to make sure that if someone gets their credentials compromised the attacker can't do much to my site. But the e-mails sent to dormant members would be nice too. Even if you did an app for just that it would be useful for driving engagement. I never automatically delete accounts unless they have zero content. Even still, I just have them moved into a group and clean it out manually every couple months.
  3. It was the automation that I was interested in. I had the app automagically move users who hadn't logged on in a while to a more restrictive member group for security reasons, I also liked that it would send out "hey, we haven't seen you in a while" e-mails. I don't think the native IPS software does that.
  4. I second the willingness to pay maintenance fees.
  5. Issue with the logo in the (RD) Footer. The logo breaks out of the container, and for some reason even sizes up. I initially used the same logo as the top (1000px wide), so I resized it to 300px and it seems to blow it up in size. So since that didn't work, I decided to remove the logo, but it leaves an empty space: The only way I found to fix this was to assign the logo to column 4 and turn the column off.
  6. Thanks. I don't update major releases until I get confirmation that all of my apps and plug-ins are marked compatible.
  7. +1 Moving away from SMTP to API years ago was a big performance improvement. It made the largest difference on large topics.
  8. Just popping in to get notification when this is updated to 4.7.x. No rush.
  9. In for the 4.7 update notice.
  10. In for the 4.7 compatibility notice
  11. Some of my Reviews: Mazda CX-5 Signature - A Little Something For Everyone Quick Drive: 2020 Kia Telluride SX AWD An opinion piece The Family Sedan is Now on the Endangered Species List
  12. I use the option of Pages creating the Topics for comments to do two things at once. Even with shorter stuff because there's the Article which I want/need to promote and the forums for the chatter about said article. I am in several Press guilds and while I'm not published in MotorTrend or Car & Driver, I do rub elbows with them and would like my articles to look professional and not just a post on a forum. I'll select some articles to share tomorrow.
  13. My pain points are largely in creating/editing articles. I use Pages largely as a news and reviews page and the forums piggyback off of that. I have no trouble finding content to create, for my niche it is a veritable firehose to stand in front of, but getting it created in Pages with the right format is tedious. I'd love: a better method for placing pictures, setting alt text, setting captions. More options for what a gallery looks like when I place a link to one. See @opentype's SuperReviews as one example of what I'd like to do, but with the Gallery system. Multi-column formatting Some sort of widget or block system where I can place an Ad widget inline with the text. Compatibility with Grammerly - Seriously, it's a pain to write it in Word so the article gets checked with Grammerly and then cut-paste-format into Pages. A lot of my slow-down with generating content. There is so much of it everyday that I have to pick and choose, but getting it posted is painful. I'd argue that the forum in IPS software is largely feature complete and any improvements would be just slightly incremental. Pages, Gallery, Clubs, is where attention is sorely needed. I said here many years ago that IPS has the potential to be the paid Wordpress beater if Pages was improved. I still see that potential.
  14. I mean, you could still do unmanaged with WHM/Cpanel. I'd also not build a new server on CentOS 7. When I did a new server back in March, step 1 was upgrading Cent7 to Alma before Cpanel went on. I prefer cpanel simply for the convenience.
  15. Are you sure you want an unmanaged server? I roll my own and some of the questions you're asking are fairly basic server setup related. Respectfully, while it may cost more, rolling your own with CPanel may be more your speed because it can handle a lot of this stuff for you.
  16. it looks correct, but put the final </div> on its own line for clarity.
  17. Do you not know how to use Div? Don't put this in your templates manually. Put it in the Advertising section in the Admin panel System-> Site Promotion -> Advertisements.
  18. Your exact code from here Surround it with <div align="center"> YOUR AD CODE HERE </div>
  19. Wherever you pasted your Google ad code, surround that with the Div Align Center and finish it with a /div
  20. How is it broken? It is exactly where you put it. If you want it centered, you need a Div align center. <div align="center"> <script async src="//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script> <script> (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({ google_ad_client: "your pub ID", enable_page_level_ads: true }); </script> </div>
  21. @Igor Denisov it is not difficult to get Adsense set up.
  22. I'm not sure where you are running into an issue, from a quick browse on your site it looks like you might have too many tags in a single field. I use adsense on my site and even though @Marc Stridgen says not to, auto ads works pretty well for me, so it is definitely doable.
  23. +1 on @Randy Calvert's suggestion of CleanTalk. If you're not a Cloudflare user, Cleantalk can also block IPs by country and prevent signups in the first place. It's $8 per year, but they also give you extra options and bonuses to extend your subscription for free. Their support is also fantastic.
  24. @bradybarrows I highly recommend the Cleantalk plug-in. The service is $8 a year and it has a feature to allow you to block by country of IP address origin. It has been a massive relief for me. I have no affiliation with Cleantalk except as a longtime happy customer.
