So Pages is the best to use? Could I get it to look similar as blogs as it pulls it from the News & Rumours forum? Do you have a link to where I can see Pages in action? Cant seem to find it anywhere

Is Pages still a thing? I see it in my "manage purchases" and can buy it but no real mention of it on the wpb homepage. I asked in the support forum for advice on how to make an article homepage which drags content from a particular forum "News & Rumours" but from what I've seen on marketplace , cast see anything that would fit. Am I right in thinking that I could buy "Pages" and then have that as the homepage , have various blocks on the homepage which pulls from the forum I mentioned and purge them as new posts are available?

OR.. Could I not buy "Blog" and have posts pulled from a particular forum as above that auto populate a blog post? If not then could I have blog where it is the homepage but call it "Home" in the menu? And just have it where I can post the blogs but people can comment?

If you think that you will get replies/answers immediately for similiar questions at xenforo, you will be in for a big surprise. Also, if I were you, I would think twice before buying/downloading third party plugins/apps there. Unlike here, they let everyone there to submit stuff without being checked first, which might result in one 's site being compromized security and performance wise. Just a friendly advice.

I guess I am a bit impatient but stuck without finding out. When I first bought IPB many years ago , it seemed a lot easier to get answers than nowadays. Perhaps its not as busy nowadays? As for XenForo , I've already got answers , very quickly. I don't particularly want to go XenForo but I know 100% that I can get something remotely close to what I want. On here , I'm clueless.

Think I'm going have to go XenForo I think. Looks easy to do on that and can't seem to get any answers here.

Just installed IPB and just getting it all set up. My forum is going to be about cameras and cinematography in general. I have installed the PORTAL app from the marketplace and kind of getting my head around it. My question is this...

I plan to search the internet for news and then put that on my site, crediting the original site, and want it to look like it does on other websites such as macrumors.com and planetf1.com etc (please seen attachments). So that on the landing page it shows this and then people can click that to go the article (I've set the portal to pull from a particular part of the forum called "News & Rumours"

How can I do this? Surely I don't have to write html for every post?

Before I install this , can I reproduce something like the portal on macrumors.com? So it pulls stories from certain forums and displays them on the front page and automatically refreshes them?

Anybody know what the issue is?

Tried this on both wifi and cellular. Ive just completed the design of the forum and nobody can register due to this?

I see in this forum and a few other ipb forums that they show the latest posts on the right. How do I have that on mine?

Sounds to me like you're having CHMOD issues. Go to ACP > Support, press the "System Check" button in the right upper corner. If there's a problem writing to the theme cache folder that should show up there.

 

This is not related to this app, as it's caused by the "Enable template disk caching?" setting in the suite.

Just ran the system check and all was green ticked. 

The template disk caching is off on mine? (see attached pic)

Just installed this and it flashed up an error saying "cannot write to theme id". When I enable it in Applications, it shows this..

Any help really apreciated
