This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme

I have a forum self-hosted forums. I woke up this morning to find an error on the homepage, just above the chatbox:

[[Template core/front/global/updateWarning is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]]

Could contain: Transportation, Vehicle, Yacht, Outdoors

I see this error every time, whether I'm using the default theme or the custom theme I'm currently using. I also can't access the AdminCP, as trying to do so results in a blank page with this line:

[[Template core/admin/global/globalTemplate is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]]

I don’t know what’s causing this error because I haven't updated anything on the forum or the server for several months. The error just appeared suddenly on its own. I contacted the hosting admin, who says there are no issues on their end, and they haven’t made any recent changes.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far to fix this error:

  1. I set the forum to Recovery Mode (by adding an entry to constants.php). This only made the forum switch to the default theme, but I still see the same errors as before, and I still can’t access the AdminCP. Basically followed this: https://invisioncommunity.com/4guides/client-services/getting-support-r292/
  2. I downloaded the latest version of IPB, uploaded its files to the forum folder on my server, then accessed the /admin/upgrade/ URL and ran the upgrade, which completed successfully.
  3. I deleted the contents of the Datastore folder.

I see those errors only on the admin account, as normal user the forum seem to work as usual.

Ensure that all third-party applications/plugins/themes/etc... are disabled. If the error still exists, then you would need to check your system logs for what the actual error is there.

How can I disable them without access to the AdminCP?

Alright, I can set the recovery mode, but to kill that session, I need a root access right?

You can just use incognito to open up a new session by logging into the ACP.

Did as you said, opened incognito page, logged to my admin account there, still the same error. Tried the other browsers with incognito just in case with the same results.

We would need to look further into this for you, however the access details on file appear to be incorrect or missing. Could you please update these details by visiting your client area, selecting the relevant purchase, then clicking "Review/Update Access Information" under the "Stored Access Information" section.

We look forward to further assisting you.

I have updated the info, but without the ftp access for now. I only have sftp root for myself and admin, and I'm not sure if admin allows me to share this sftp login data. Not sure if you can check anything without this access.

We will not be able to assist without access to the software files on your server. You would need to provide SFTP access or another user account with full access to the software directory.

Added sFTP data.

Before you start checking it, please wait few hours from now, the hosting admin is moving the data to better drive or server even. This one has some issues, that might be related to this problem (but doesn't have to be). - just got this info.
