Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
hammerstringz Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 (edited) I've been looking all over this website for hosting requirements for self-hosting for 4.7.9. Anyone know where I can find the list of requirements? All I see is to download some sort of technical coding for compatibility that I really don't understand. Any recommended hosts that offer installation and everything besides IPB Cloud? Edited April 5, 2023 by hammerstringz
Randy Calvert Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 There is a compatibility checking script that will help you figure out if you meet the requirements. That will even include all of the specific PHP modules and memory settings. Check out: hammerstringz 1
hammerstringz Posted April 5, 2023 Author Posted April 5, 2023 Yeah. That's the thing I don't understand. I'm hunting for website hosting and I don't want to have to buy it first then find out it's not going to work.
Randy Calvert Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 The critical thing is PHP8.0 or 8.1. When I get home (Im mobile), I’ll run the script and paste the output. That should give you what you need. hammerstringz 1

The software requires secure versions of PHP (currently PHP 8), with GD, mbstring, and all default PHP extentions, along with mySQL. hammerstringz 1
hammerstringz Posted April 6, 2023 Author Posted April 6, 2023 Thank you both! I went with A2 Hosting as they also installed it for me lol
