dyelton Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 I have auto renewals for supporting membership packages and customers are being charged twice except the duplicate is only in Stripe, not in IPB. Only one transaction ID matches up with the invoice (and only one invoice is created in IPB). This leads me to having to refund the additional (non-linked) transaction within Stripe.
Solution Marc Posted January 21, 2022 Solution Posted January 21, 2022 Do you have a test instance running somewhere? I suspect this may be the case, and both are requesting the payment
Nathan Explosion Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Do you have a test instance of your site, which may have been setup using a backup of your database previously?
dyelton Posted January 21, 2022 Author Posted January 21, 2022 I do have a test instance but it isn't running. I have it on a VM but that VM is not running (and hasn't for a few months).
dyelton Posted January 21, 2022 Author Posted January 21, 2022 That triggered a thought...Let me check again to make sure an older VM isn't running that I migrated from. One may have gotten lost in the shuffle in a past upgrade when I upgraded the underlying OS.
Marc Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Just now, dyelton said: That triggered a thought...Let me check again to make sure an older VM isn't running that I migrated from. One may have gotten lost in the shuffle in a past upgrade when I upgraded the underlying OS. That would certainly be worth checking. This is the most common cause of issues like these
dyelton Posted January 21, 2022 Author Posted January 21, 2022 Found it! Not a test instance, just an old VM that I left powered on for other things and forgot that I moved the forums off of it onto a new one. Appreciate the quick responses!!
Marc Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Excellent. Glad to hear you found the issue there
