no access to database for user

What are some common reasons for this error during install?

"access denied"

I checked that my credentials are correct. I also checked permissions.
Everything is correct. I have never had an issue like this before.

I am so confused. Ideas on what I can check next?

It's going to be either a wrong password or your user doesn't have the @localhost scope. Maybe it's 127.0.0.1?

Check your MySQL user and make sure it's the correct username and host pattern.

Also is the socket path correct/used?

Or the account doesn't have permissions to access the database.

Im an idiot ... even though I double and triple checked the password. Some how I still had it wrong.
